As myself and about eight others wait to pick up our prescriptions..two individuals walk to the front of everybody and present the pharmacist with a document with the department of justice seal on top. The document was demand for an immediate inspection. Quoting: DooobieDooobieDo To my surprise the pharmacist a young and bold individual told them they could wait until all of those customers who are waiting online were taken care of . They agreed and the pharmacist proceeded to get us all out of there as fast she could. As i waited, I acknowledged the two individuals (a man and a woman )and asked if they were from the DEA? The man Initially attempted to act as if he didn’t hear my question and attempted to avoid making eye contact with me. I asked again and he ever so slightly nodded yes as to not engage in conversation. I said to him you know it really is a terrible thing that’s happening as far as the opioid crisis. It’s good that someone is doing something but you should also consider that these people are just doing their jobs and there are actually people who need pain medication to live productive lives. I hope you will keep that in mind as you continue to do your work. The woman kind of laughed and the man gave me another slight nod. I then responded by saying, “ you may think that’s funny but you have the people behind the counter scared to death and good people are suffering because of it I don’t think that’s very funny. “ The pharmacist who knows me.. called me over to finish up my business as she saw I was steamed.. The thread the other day was no joke . The opioid crisis is causing unforeseen and major consequences to law abiding citizens. The system needs to be fixed and I’m not sure how . On one hand I’ve seen at least eight or nine people in the past five years die from Opioid overdose.. The crisis is real, very real. But that doesn’t mean people who require controlled substances should be forced to live a more difficult life because of it. Sorry I’ve gone on a rant here but the arrogance and lack of care by these DEA representatives made my blood boil. This pharmacy is pretty big and I’ve known these people for sometime they run a clean operation. It’s not a pill mail or small back alley pharmacy. I feel for those affected by This crisis. I hope everyone has a great Easter God bless DDD Oh wow...you really told them. And you were really steamed? You kinda reminded me of Gladys Kravitz. Strawberry Girl User ID: 34643907 United States 04/19/2019 03:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, you said it very well and with class. I understand the importance of regulation but it really has come to the point where people are committing suicide because they can't handle their pain. Chronic pain is depressing enough without having to be treated like a junkie when asking for relief. I have rheumatoid arthritis and systemic morphea, and I've had 2 brain surgeries for chiari malformation. I take tramadol and I have to see the doctor every 3 months or they won't fill it. I had to sign a contract agreeing to random pill counts, surprise drug tests, and some other things I don't remember. I never ask for refills early. I never take more than I'm supposed to, even thought tramadol alone only takes the edge off. And yet, I go to the pharmacy and one girl there always gives me a weird look. One time she said she wouldn't fill it because it was too early and I had to pull out my phone and log into their app to show her it was 5 days past the refill date because she wouldn't even pull it up in her computer. She simply didn't believe me until I showed her myself. And I've never given any indication of having problems with the medication. She just assumed it. So I hope they listened to you, OP, but I doubt they did, sadly. Goodbye, halcyon days... There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77574798 United States 04/19/2019 03:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have debilitating fibro, cfs, degenerative disc disease, scolosis, been in serious pain, often horrific pain, for the last two decades....only got pain meds about two years of that time...I've spent years of my life in bed...while raising kids..by myself..no family or friends helped me. My adult sons had the same as myself ten years now, another has r.a. we get zero pain meds, zero disability benefits....yet if I was rich, famous, I would get whatever pills I wanted...and of I was an addict, i would get sympathy, and methadone....which ironically enough, kills pain. I no longer have funds to pay a self pay pain clinic, and I've been on a waiting list years in alabama with medicaid, to see a pain doc!!! It's pure insanity! It's barbaric! Quoting: Halfbreedgal 69638656 Get out of Alabama if you can. The state is run by ignorant rednecks that think holistic doctors, herbalists and acupuncturists are evil foreign heathens and have probably run any they had before out of the state. Medicaid there is unlikely to cover any natural treatments because the State Legislature gets to determine how those federal funds are used, not the feds. If you're not too far from a state line, you might be able to use that Medicaid in another state that has a better set of options simply by explaining to Human Services that you cannot get any medical help where you live now. It is definitely worth a phone call to find out. It's odd that your sons have the same disabilities! If that can be proven by medical records as a genetic propensity, it might speed up disability for you. You're going to have to lawyer up to get it anyway; even your Alabama phonebook is going to have pages of lawyers that specialize in that. The lawyer will get his or her fee out of the larger sum you get when your payments start, or out of the settlement if you file a lawsuit - it seems to me you have a reasonable case for one. |

No way in 1 million years would I have guessed that these two were DEA agents. Not sure if that’s on purpose or BaE😈 A lot of government jobs have their people dress down or dress "normal". I work in IT, in a location that's classified as "critical infrastructure" by Homeland Security. About every 2-3 years we get an onsite audit. Our "geek" agents/auditors from Homeland Security come in for the audit dressed in shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops/boat shoes, etc. with their badge hanging on a lanyard around their necks...LOL Maybe they're enjoying the Florida sun and beaches while they're down doing the audit They've been nice guys, and easy to work with. The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it - Orwell If you’re backed by Hollywood, social media, the government, and practically the entire globalist system, you are not the resistance -- you're part of the problem |

After suffering for so long, a person can only take it for a time before they give up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77331530 My mother had been trying in vain to get her meds, which she had been on without issue for 25 years, increased due to tolerance and lack of effectiveness. She had been using the hospital for the last year as a last resort when it got so bad she could not stand it. Then one month, she ran out a couple days early and ended up having a heart attack. I realize it was her fault for going through them too soon, but when you are in constant pain, you don't think about that and only hope to ease the pain at that time. Anonymous Coward User ID: 77331530 United States 04/19/2019 05:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My mother died from this exact reason. I also suspect the suicide increase is due to some who no longer can get their meds and don't have access to street drugs. I hope at some point soon, legislators and FDA/DEA realize that they have caused an increase in suicide and the use of heroin and fentanyl. They are responsible for most of these deaths. Things need to change soon or we are going to see a larger loss of life than we already have now. And for you pot heads and herbal shit, don't bother with a snarky comment. Live a couple decades in their shoes and see how it feels. Uh you are the snarky bich? Its not our fault we found something besides opium and did good? Sorry about your mom. I bet you didn't even try to do or find anything different tho? So you have no bich on any of us? Sorry, I beg to differ. I have tried everything I can get my hands on. Pot makes my pain worse, and I get sick of seeing every reply saying, "use pot man." I don't care if you do or don't smoke pot, but it is not an answer for me. I was giving my mom some of my meds to the point I was running out early. I assume you have never gone through withdrawals no suffered from chronic pain, so don't judge me. I was not judging you nor anyone else. Just stating to keep the pot advice to yourself. And I am the same snarky guy who donated $1k to the post you made for your friends dog Rex. So put that in your bowl and smoke it. I don't like pot products either...and they also make my pain even worse. People judging haven't sat in bed all day in tears, day after day, month after month, watching their life slip away while the world goes by...like I have. The high quality cbd products that are really suppose to help are very expensive anyway...out of reach for poor people who havent worked in years due to pain. Life is pure hell some days...many days I will not ever get back. Thank you. I empathize with you as it sounds as if your life is akin to mine. I live downstairs, apart from my wife because I have to try to get whatever sleep I can in a recliner; I cannot lie flat. The fear of losing what is left of my pain meds is a daily worry that is always in the back of my mind. We do sit and watch a lot of our lives go to waste. I try to do what I can outdoors, but activity just aggravates my condition, and with my reduction in meds and my doc not grasping the concept of tolerance of a 20-year opiate user, I am limited in what I can do. My life was so much better when I found many ways to access meds. Now that those have gone away, my life has gone downhill. And I am too stupid to figure out the dark web, and even then, too dumb to figure out how to use bitcoin. I am retired and just want to live what is left of my life in the best way possible. I have to cash to purchase all the meds that I would need for the rest of my life, but I would not have a clue where to find them now. As it goes now, I don't want to live much longer and am trying to speed up my demise by eating as unhealthy as possible. I really wish the CBD or edibles would have worked for me. I tried them all, CBD with thc, without thc, vape pens, bath products, balms, oils, you name it (S.I.L. is a manufacturer and is always trying to find new things for me to try. Different strains of thc products made no difference. Aside from making me a paranoid mute, it also focussed my mind directly on my pain and intensified it. So I can sympathize with your use of the products. It is great for some but not for all. It is the same way with opiates, some work for some people, others cannot stand them. I just happen to be one of those people that it drastically turned my life around and made it worth living. Good luck to you in your struggles. I hope that someday you find relief for your pain and ailments. Or better yet, a cure. Medicine is always advancing, so do not lose hope. One thing I need to look into is stem cell treatment. I have heard little about this and would like to find out more. I wish you well in your life, and peace and pain-free days. Have a happy Easter. |

Quoting: Lady Jane Smith The ones who really need to hear rants from people suffering due to the current political climate, are the legislators who make the shortsighted laws and regulations. My answer? Legalize it all and let natural selection sort it out. Decriminalize it. don't give drugs any status at all. Let natural selection settle it. We'll be a better country for it. Let people with drug problems seek medical help and not legal help. Eliminate the Black Market in Drugs overnight. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |

Now I guess I'll be OD'ing on the over the counter stuff instead. Quoting: smeddly Or rot your kidney and liver out with OTC medicines. I think that at age 60 or 65 you should be able to buy absolut4ely any drug you want. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |
