I have always heard that liposomal supplements are more readily absorbed. It is about twice as expensive as a month's supply of the Vitacost capsules but if it is really better absorbed it might be worth the extra cost. I already take a liposomal vitamin c but it is not from LivOn Labs because I like non-soy products better. The one I take comes from sunflowers. The LivOn Labs magnesium L-Threonate also has soy in it so that concerns me a bit. Quoting: gamecock Hmmmm, I'm going to check in on that. I do get tired of taking so many pills (since the heart attack), and I think anything liposomal is better...again, just thinking out loud. I'm not so much concerned about cost, but I do want to get what is best. Recovering my health is waay up off the top of my to do list. Thank you for bringing this up, and I hope someone chimes in about their use of it. Gosh, do I remember Lady Jane talking about taking this in liposomal form?.....she was talking about taking something in that form. I think I'll go ask her in PM..... And there’s nowhere on the site to find out how many capsules are in the bottle. The site seems to be a bit deceptive, to say the least . 60 capsules. Most other brands seem to be 90 capsules. Slightly gimmicky marketing, but if you can get the 2 for 1, it seems like a fair deal compared to other options. Not sure how much they charge for shipping though? I don't like to use Amazon, but it looks like the best deal there is Life Extension brand? 23.95 / 90 caps I ordered the intelligent labs brand from amazon. It’s called Mag Enhance They said they have helped restless leg syndrome and insomnia. $24.99 for 90 caps but a serving is 3 caps!!! So I don’t like that but we will see. This may allow you to save money if it it cheaper with your insurance. I was surprised. I receive expensive stuff for free if I use a special pharmacy system. I also ask my doc once a year for a large tube of prescription strength antibiotic ointment. You never know when some mrsa or impetigo germ is going to attack. I |

Most run about $.30/pill or $1/day. There are enough negative reviews to suggest some people are allergic to some ingredient. There were enough positive reviews I’m going to take a chance. I was looking for double blind reviews and could not find any with controls but there were studies that had amazing effects on dementia patients. Typical was a 60 yr old with brain functioning of a 70 year old. With treatment the could reduce the mental age to close to 60. I think it may only help if some cognitive functions have been lost, but it may have preventative uses also which this study did not address. [link to www.prohealth.com (secure)] carterCZ |

The better ones are chelated like this version is, but this one is suppose to get into the brain easier. Most everyone is deficient because our farm lands don’t have any magnesium left in them. Most of the pills are huge, it hard to take 3 big pills with all the other supplements we probably need. I have never read anything stating that magnesium citrate could cross the blood-brain barrier though. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77505643 United States 08/01/2019 04:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is this why everyone I know seems to crave really hot nightshade- intense food ? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77505643 Nightshades give me joint pains. The hotter the pepper, e.g., the worse the effect. I think I managed to sensitize myself by smoking cigarettes for a few years. [tobacco-nightshade] Do you know if K2, as in certain cheeses and natto [?], might help with something like that ? Nightshades used to give me joint pains too, until I started taking supplemental magnesium and K2. I originally tried K2 Mk7 which seems to be the one most talked about right now, but I didn't notice any difference. Then I read some stuff about how Mk7 isn't in human breast milk and it does not cross the placental barrier when a woman is pregnant. That got me thinking it might not be as amazing of a supplement as people were saying. Mk4 is in breast milk and it will pass into the fetus during pregnancy. I then switched to higher dose K2 Mk4. I got 15mg (not mcg) capsules of Mk4 and I take 1/3 of a capsule a day. That, along with additional magnesium and general nutrient supplementation has eliminated all the symptoms I used to get when eating nightshades. If I miss taking the Mk4 for several days I notice my nightshade sensitivity starting to creep back a little bit. Related to your friends, nightshades have other compounds in them that can be addictive for some people. Nightshades can also cause overall inflammation in the body and inflammation essentially slows down the body and numbs the nerves a bit, so it can be used as a coping mechanism for stress as well. That might be why so many comfort foods contain nightshades. Spicy foods also trigger mild endorphin releases if I remember correctly. Thank you so much. K2MK4 sounds really good- have been reading about. The idea of being able to tolerate nightshades and maybe get some actual [non-synthetic] vitamin C for a change ? Wow. ". With 109 mg of vitamin C, one jalapeno provides more than a day's worth of this important nutrient. Vitamin C is essential to healthy tissue repair, and it acts as an antioxidant to help with immunity and to fight the effects of aging." |

Quoting: The_Meridian Won't go without it now. Okay lovey, but I don't think that passes through the blood-brain barrier. Supplementing with this mag will carry the magnesium through to the brain. Like the article said, using the two together would be the best route. I have the mag oil spray I put on the bottom of feet, but I am going to get this supplement when I order again. And now I'm sitting here wondering about our body's intelligence....because if something is so very important for optimal health, then why is it so hard for the body to absorb? This just doesn't make sense to me.... Thank you for sharing! I take Magnesium Citrate Capsules and just recently started using Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil.
