There is some truth to that as the Russians during the USSR era felt that the Chinese being peasants were NOT true proliteriats. And there was bad blood that the USSR would try to absorb these stepchildren.

China was largely peasant based until 1973. Even this was true until 1990. To get enough workers, the Chicoms recruited peasants to come to the urban areas. So many did because they promised them adequate wages to buy land. Did that happen? Not really. See the ghost cities.

Meanwhile China is automating like crazy. So they will be crushed as these peasants figure out they are being betrayed and they won't be able to recoup their investment if we ban Chinese products. They will go bankrupt!

All these former peasants will lose their jobs to robots. Amd they are waking up to it. Robots are perfect slaves.

In a way this is good, because the success of the Plan depends on wise patience. What is being shown now by Beijing is neither wise nor patient and is therefore in danger of blowing everything up in revolution.
