Abel returned to life and appeared in Heaven before God, who acted surprised.

Jesus described the story of the resurrection of the prodigal son.

Abel went in the wilderness and fields while Cain labored hard on the farm.

God favored Abel - you know the story.

Abel asked that Cain be forgiven on the condition that he would replace him in the world - going into the wilderness and fields to cultivate a relationship with nature, which might have healed him of his fears and his arrogance.

With no witness against Cain, God marked him and let him go, bearing the mark of Abel, which became known as the mark of Cain.

Cain, of course, would not obey the order of God, but instead made cities and civilization. His descendants took to taking vengeance themselves when they were supposed to leave the vengeance to God.

Or, do you think Jesus was lying or making it up when he told the story of the prodigal son?

Of course, he told it in worldly terms, but there was the spiritual original.

The spirit of the prodigal son can go into the world as it pleases, and out of it.

Bound by God's law but altogether unbound otherwise by anything but love and curiosity.

God doesn't order me - he asks if I want to help.

It was a good funeral. The man was a Marine, and also a police officer and at one time the chief of police in the town.

The fire dept and the police dept lined both sides of the walk into the church. I hadn't been in a long time.

They shut the whole town down for the procession.

The Marines were waiting at the cemetery. There was the three volley salute at the grave site and the presentation of the flag to the spouse.

You couldn't ask for a better send off.

I lost a dart. Can't see right now cis of setting sun but am hopeful afterwards. Way to aggravating to try find it now with the glare
