Anonymous Coward User ID: 77376498 United States 08/13/2019 05:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Jupiter is YUUUGE its the largest of the planets. most "planetary 'scopes will show something similar; not alot of cloud detail; but seeing the bands is entirely possible. "Jupiter has a diameter of about 88,695 miles (142,800 kilometers) which is more than 11 times the diameter of Earth. It's volume is over 1,300 times the volume of Earth. This means that Jupiter is so big that over 1,300 Earths could fit inside of it." [link to coolcosmos.ipac.caltech.edu] |

Quoting: Remedial_Rebel Instead of shilling why don't you get a 50x70 set of binoculars and try it? You deniers never do. I am not denying anything. All I said is that I find what you wrote very hard to believe since they are binoculars that you say you have. I thought that Uranus could only be seen with a telescope and even then it is not as clear as the telescopes NASA has. Since it is farther away than Jupiter and Saturn. If that is a wrong assumption then ok, but no need to get defensive. No need to assume I am a shill either. What is it that people say? "Don't assume...…….." Then answer the question, why don't you try it? These are the binoculars I have. You can also make out Saturn's rings [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] I actually will. I don't own any binoculars but I would borrow some from a friend. Thank you for the brand. And what direction in the sky do you point them at? During the nighttime or during the daytime? Coordinates also, please. I said I am not into astronomy so I need that information to verify what you are saying. Again, no need to get defensive.....but thank you for the link. Note that most binoculars do not have that kind of magnification. The ones I listed have up to 50 times magnification and 70mm objectives(front lens). You really need at 30-40 times to see any diameter to Jupiter or Saturn. Also EBay has them for $54.95. A good low cost investment for all kinds of observing. [link to www.ebay.com (secure)] |
