Idk. The thing about it all for me - I don’t feel like he did that. And here’s why. I remember watching the video the first time the day it happened and immediately that line jumped out to me like WTF is he serious ? Just like all of us - that was clearly drawn in. But looking back I feel like you know if he had done that himself or frankly if he had even known it was there before asking his aid to hand them that map why did he not point to it. He doesn’t draw attention to it. In fact if you look at this video below this news outlet compiled several clips you see the actual video pay attention to his body language. To me it’s as if he’s seeing that sharpie the first time too. He doesn’t point it out he intentionally doesn’t point at all. If it was me making a point to say hey idiots look it was going THIS direction it would have hit Alabama next.... duh !!!! Which is essentially what he wanted to articulate. He would have used his finger look it’s here it’s going there. Instead he looks at it for several seconds fumbles his words and then can’t get it off his desk fast enough. Then both times he’s questioned (they have both clips here) he seems annoyed by it.



This is pure speculation but I personally think someone either wishing ill intent or just really really stupid drew that on there without him knowing before he held it up to the camera in the first place. The guy is under CONSTANT attack for every single thing he does and says why would he sit down and think you know I’m gonna draw a sharpie on this - how would he not stop and think “ they are gonna crucify me on every channel for what I’m about to do “. I think he saw that line for the first time the same as we did stared at it for a few sec thinking “ I’m gonna kill who ever did that “ and tried to fumble through his point then got it off the screen as fast as he could and wanted to move on.
