A Second Interstellar Object Has Almost Certainly Been Found In Our Solar System

The object was originally given the moniker gb00234 and was discovered by an amateur astronomer called Gennady Borisov in Crimea using his own observatory called MARGO. Borisov first spotted the object on August 30 and was immediately alerted by its odd path, suggesting it was not bound to our Sun.

Subsequent analysis and observations have confirmed the object has a high eccentricity, meaning it is on a hyperbolic path that will take it in and out of our Solar System, never to return. The Minor Planet Center (MPC) at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics confirmed the orbit of the object earlier today and gave it a new name in honor of its discoverer: C/2019 Q4 (Borisov).

They're is something up with this one for sure... I believe it may be some kind of alien satellite they send to monitor the milky way, and us!!

yes, our binary twin has a similar orbit actually.. its period is quite large that is why we are not aware of it.. yet.

Interesting post Rosicrucian. I only know what I hear from those in the know, but it seems like they know it is out there, approaching us, and are planning for it and the havoc it will cause.

If there is a Borg species out there I doubt they'd have to try very hard to conquer us. Reality isn't Star Trek where we have a chance to fight back. It'd be over very quickly I think...

Any intelligent species interested in destroying us would just target our infrastructure from space and then wait a month. We will kill each other

If they're intelligent and hostile we won't have to worry about it for long at least. Lol. Hopefully we wouldn't be worth bothering with. We're not even a Type 1 civilization on the Kardshev scale. I wonder what would happen if we met a Type 3.

Maybe it's the idealist scientist in me but I would hope that any civilization that had advanced that far would be peaceful. I have the feeling we'll find out if they are one way or another in the coming years.
