Anonymous Coward User ID: 27855819 United States 11/01/2019 03:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's getting lesser every year because most are getting lazy and doing the trunk or treater. Not fun anymore. That's why I stopped. I think I only saw 3 kids tonight before the storm came. Quoting: Diabolical. Ya we had trunk or treat here too. Back home, 600 miles away we picked up some speed, last year more kids. Talk to the family tomorrow give and update. :cathatescandy: |

My bf and I are noticing fewer and fewer every year. Quoting: Only Me Is it the PC culture doing it? We live in a pretty big neighborhood with lots of kids. What's going on? Is it just us?? Just came back from driving through the strip. Since it’s on a Thursday we decided to drive through the strip rather than walk through it since we got work the next day. But maybe the reason why not as many people is because it’sa work week. But we noticed not as many people dressed up this year. If they did dress it it was very lazy and a lot of repeated costumes. My gf and I dressed up even though we were driving rather than walking. Sad indeed |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76316261 Word must have gone around about the candy cigarettes that were being given as well as the full size candy - only got em as they were cheaper than buying the “halloween” packs of minis. I didn't know they still sold candy cigarettes! Amazon has them. |

The parents are more greedier than the kids when it comes to candy, the kids barely dress up anymore with costumes, and the trunk and treaters are taking them all to a spot where they don't have to actually walk. ;p Used to be fun, but not anymore. They get lazier every year which is why you see the depletion of kids actually walking around. No one wants to participate anymore. |

But I think kids are too preoccupied with their freaking cell phones, even the toddlers are under their spell. Rather than being kids and actually going outside to enjoy life, they sit in a dank and dark room texting. User ID: 76401613 United States 11/01/2019 10:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It was definitely much less in my neighborhood. My kids still got a good take because it’s a big neighborhood. But last year there were at least double the houses giving things out. PC culture doesn’t just affect the costumes either. It’s also turning people off from handing stuff out. You see people bitching online about people that don’t have sugar free, allergen free, gluten free, whatever free options too. Every house is supposed to be all inclusive. And you aren’t allowed to be aggravated if someone doesn’t say thank you anymore either. Give stuff away for free no matter how you’re treated. Add to that the fact that a lot of parents participate in the candy buy back crap. If I was a kid and didn’t get to keep the candy I “earned” then I would feel like what’s the point? Walking door to door is fun, but the goal is the mountain of candy. Ok, now give it away. No thanks. I would find something different to do. |

"While we recognize that Halloween is a fun tradition for many, it is not a holiday that is celebrated by everyone for various reasons and we want to honor that. We are also aware of the range of inequities that are embedded in Halloween celebrations that take place as part of the school day and the unintended negative impact that it can have on students, families, and staff."
