Re: Would you write this book?
Write the story, but allow your hindsight to mold it; maybe even change the plot to accommodate things you wish you had done... or write it from a character's perspective in your tale other than you (writing as the bitch handler might be fun).

Alright. The rough article is done. Still needs a ton of polishing.

Anyone wanna see it and offer feedback? Not in the thread. I'm not posting it on here :P

Re: Would you write this book?
I'd read that wink

Maybe create it as 'fiction' and just make the protagonist about you and events in your life. Then you can change names and locations if you have to.

Just throwing ideas at the wall

That's all it is really, scribbling ideas in a notebook and turning it into something coherent

If you'd really read it, let me know and I'll inbox you the rough draft of the article (decided against a full book for now).

I could use some input on how to polish the thing.

Re: Would you write this book?
My whole life, people have insisted I should "write a book" about what I went through.

The thing is:

A - Writing from a personal perspective is insanely hard
B- I like being out of the spotlight

But there is one central character that none of my stories could exist without:

The spook who dragged me along on her destructive joy ride. She was one of the prize gov employees in her day. Has done some crazy shit, still does. She's been involved in some of the major conspiracies of our time and has been completely unethical about it throughout.

Away from her, my tale has been as dull as a day spent folding laundry.

But every time she has stepped into or been in my life, the whirlwind storm kicks up (which is funny when you realize she was one of the first US domestic terrorists from the Weather Underground group...weather...storm...okay, I found it funny).

So, screw my story. It's a heart breaker anyway.

Should I sell her out?
 Quoting: TlvmmCpoft

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

Write the book. During the process of writing, more information and details will arise, and you will gain more insight and a broader/altered perspective of certain events. You don't have to ever release it publicly, but I think you should write it for you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77713188

"Write a book" they say.

I say, "I wrote less than a chapter and made it into a article, would anyone like to read it for me?" and the answer is crickets.

People really need to quit saying what they don't believe in. It's the vast majority of what is wrong with this society and it's prolific.

Re: Would you write this book?
Well I came back to thinking about this again this morning.

The reason asking what *country* that part of your story took place is *relevant* is because the reader wants to have a clear picture of the culture/environment that you were experiencing at the time.

The setting is important so that the reader can visualize the atmosphere, local culture/people, mood, geography, politics, that you were thrown into.

Yeah, but it's not my story I'm writing. It's hers. She didn't come to that country. She sent an errand girl. How often does someone's super-charged and adventure-filled story focus around the day to day life of the person delivering their documents?

Can only imagine, though I've met some misfits over the years

Even family members, and addiction seems to run in the family on mother's side especially. Was deep in that world myself for many years

I'm about half way through the story, it definitely could be a book. There's a lot of details to expand on
