Man erects giant middle finger next door to ex-wife


Alan Markovitz is “so over” his ex-wife.

So over her. Which is presumably why he bought the house next to hers and erected a $7000 statue of a hand with its middle finger raised in the backyard.

The bronze statue, which is about 3.5 metres tall, faces the windows of Mr Markovitz’s ex-wife Lea Tuohy’s house.

It’s even spot-lit to ensure the neighbours can see it at night, Gawker reports.


Mr Markovitz claims the statue is specifically aimed at Mrs Tuohy’s housemate, with whom she had an affair while they were married.

I'm from that area. Vermont, New Hampshire and especially Massachusetts use the excuse of "Historical Preservation" to enact rules and regulations that require every home owner to get a "permit" to do anything. Even the color of your house if you want to paint it. If you do cave in and buy the permit those states can force you to use their people as contractors. Who charge triple to do the work. You people bad mouth California but here in the high desert it's freedom baby. You can do what ever the hell you want. So glad i moved out here.
