CNG is gutless but cheap, LPG about 8o% power of petrol but half the price. I have T-boned a truck and had a head on collision on highway, both in CNG vehicles. No flaming fireball. Eventually you miss the power on CNG, no good on hills or for towing. LPG good for both but need to refill twice as much as petrol. . How about you and I play a game of fuck off...you go first. Hard headed fuck you all, Just add it to the hot rod death toll ... Why don't presidents fight the war? Why do they always send the poor? |

User ID: 68199120 United States 12/14/2019 04:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A HORRIBLE waste of money... At current NG filling station prices in the Midwest, they cost THREE times as much to drive as a gasoline car, not too mention they can ONLY be maintained by an NG certified repair center. There are THREE in Ohio, and they are madly expensive. Same thing killing the demand now, that killed it in the 80’s. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73645835 United States 12/14/2019 05:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In Texas it is usually only done with work trucks that can also have a large 2nd tank in the bed of truck. Also typically only done as a fleet vehicle. Austin texas still has 1 Nat Gas service station and Dallas texas has 1. Thats It!! Only other way to fill up is with private equipment by those who manage gas wells, storage..etc OR by buying a large tank on property and buying necessary equipment. However PROPANE can be filled up at a propane refill station |

User ID: 76783046 United States 12/14/2019 05:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | CNG is not practical. It requires large, high pressure tanks that take up way too much room. Even with a large tank the range is not good enough to get you from one CNG station to the next. Propane is proven and dependable, but still not a great solution. Gasoline is still king, and will be for quite a while yet. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe |

Both are far better than hydrogen (think "Big bomb") Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76811228 Are you fucking high? Do you have any idea how dangerous anhydrous ammonia is???? A CNG tank going up would be bad for people within 100 yards, an ammonia tank rupturing would be a hazmat incident requiring the evacuation of everyone within a mile radius. I've personally been involved in an anhydrous ammonia leak, there were two routes out of the facility if I had taken the other one I would be dead right now. 3 firefighters out of the 10 who responded had to be hospitalized despite being decked out in full protective gear and SCBA masks... the shit can absorb through your skin. One guy at the facility also was hospitalized, and almost died. The tank that leaked wasn't even that big, I'd say it was about 3 or 4 times the size of an automotive fuel tank. And guess what you use to make ammonia? Natural gas!!! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78173554 United States 12/14/2019 05:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Your video kinda shows just how fucking dangerous gasoline is... natural gas leaking would not spread out on the ground like that, the fire would have been contained to the rear of the vehicle away from the passengers. As long as you're not in an enclosed space, I would rather a gas fuel leak than a liquid fuel leak. |

Seriously, you tear one down at 100,000 miles and the insides looks like it just left the factory. The problem is, there's no real infrastructure to refill CNG vehicles. I'd invest in that before the electric car nonsense. I'm not paranoid...am I? |
