As you say, this could be the calm before the storm, or a sign that the virus is dying out. We’ll know in another month or two. Here in Ontario, Canada, cases have also been dropping off, as have deaths. We’re having about half as many deaths and cases as we were around Christmas. But our imbecilic provincial government will probably say that the lockdown brought about the reduction in cases. In BC, the lockdowns are being extended indefinitely. Not because of any hard scientific evidence, but the fear that the new variants are going to cause an exponential rise in cases and deaths. The UK, Brazilian and SA variants have been circulating for almost two months now, but they don’t appear to have resulted in more cases and deaths in Canada. My friend in Barrie said that they have closed off the exit ramps into Barrie AND the cops are driving around running plates of cars in driveways to make sure the are is registered that that address! Win/ win It was very popular about 10 years ago. I wanted to use our old, huge round one that the previous owners left. It was starting to rust. My husband vetoed that one. If yours is above ground, don't plant corn in it. It'll blow over! Weird... I was thinking corn. I needs about 3 feet to really anchor and i can get that in this tub. What about a wind block? |

Gonna start a couple of apple trees..... longterm thinking is needed..... If you want to turn some green grass into soil for potatoes or else, without shoveling and breaking your back, last year I did it this way : Just mark where your bed shall be. Put card board on the grass (the brown one, without any plastic), wet it with water. And whenever you mow your lawn, put the mown grass thick on it. It will rot and kill the grass beneath it. When it was 1 foot high end of March last year from all the mowing, I put my potato seedlings in. When you mow again, put that mown grass on it again. Don't know what this method is called, but was easy, made nice potatoes, and this year there's no weeds or grass just 1foot of good soil. And for my seedlings I keep the McDonald's cups and start them end of February on my window sill. |
