You cannot tell from looking whether it had hit the atmosphere yet, the tail starts to form in the stratosphere. I saw one , about 2014 ... I was coming into east Knoxville at 3 o clock in the morning on the interstate ... it had a green tail and more of a vertical trajectory ... could have been some space junk falling , I am not for sure ... People don't care how much You know ... till they know how much You care ... |

The bright burning ball was caught by security cameras and people randomly taking pictures and video of other things. Rafael Rivera, a pharmacist, said he saw and heard the fireball as he passed over a toll bridge in northern Puerto Rico, briefly worrying it was a malfunctioning plane. “It was a loud noise,” he said. “I see this ball of fire, very fast and very big, and I said, ‘Wow, that can’t be a plane because it’s going too fast.’” The meteor was visible across Puerto Rico in broad daylight, said Eddie Irizarry, a Puerto Rico astronomy professor and vice president of the Caribbean Astronomy Society.
