I think they get sucked in to the liberal bullshit because absolutely NO STANDARDS OR DISCIPLINE are required for ANYTHING. The Left is ALWAYS lowering the bar, always. Their ONLY goal ideologically - ultimately - is that EVERYONE BE EQUAL. But equality is an abstract concept, not a reality - so how do you make everyone equal? You can't lift everyone UP to the same level because not everyone has the capabilities, intellectually, physically, spiritually, etc.

BUT YOU CAN DRAG EVERYONE DOWN TO THE SAME LEVEL. That is possible. And THAT is what they focus on. Their quest for equality always ends up in the mud.

That's what I've seen too. Masculine types are definitely a minority among gays. Even guys who seem kind of neutral most of the time - like a Buttigieg - you get them in private and they start swishing. I've seen it. They want to ape femininity. Most of them are "bottoms", meaning they are the fuckee, and they're always looking for "tops", masculine guys to fuck them. But that's not the goal of most men, LOL, if there are women available.

Homosexuality and the identity of the city of SF have been closely interrelated for decades. If SF isn't the only hub, it's at least one of the main ones.

And the uniformity and singularity of liberalism among the GLBT community may not be as ridiculously one-sided as it is among the black community---or 9 out of 10 black people identifying with the left. But liberalism/leftism does dominate the two groups of people.

In fact, an old friend of mine owns a gay bar and he, as well as a large segment of the regulars there were actually Trump supporters.
