I replied to this thread after watching the video. Didn't even know it got de-railed.

Astro, I enjoyed the video. I am an amateur astronomer and I understand how hard it is to do what you did. You have to have knowledge in several different areas to create a tracking system like you did.

For what it is worth, as an AC, I am totally impressed.

Thanks Astro.

My area it listed for 7:41 PM FL Panhandle, WNW appears 10 degree above.

Can't believe how fast your telescope must be, and magnified to boot. WOW

I can see what your saying about the effort to get this done.

Still amazing to see this fly over head. Hope you get the Bigger scope on it.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78370346

Because the exposure is too fast since I set it to properly expose the bright daylit surface of the space station. Which is also the same reason you don't see stars in normal daylit video footage from the space station. normal cameras don't have the dynamic range required to properly capture very dim stars along with the very bright space station in the same exposure.

Hi Astro. I'm the aussie who used to troll u. I admit it was cos i was jealous. i wish i was good at math, could calculate astroids and stuff and had a youtube channel about astronomy. Oh well. I do have a scope tho. But thats' why. As for these trolling u about abuse of mod power, well thats' none of my biz. If they don't want my medical cures that's ok.

I once got to see the ISS zoom directly overhead with the naked eye. Went by pretty quick and just looked like bright star.

I’ve used a backyard telescope to look at the full moon before and I had to keep moving the damn thing to keep the moon in view!

Putting those two minor, personal experiences together, I can’t even imagine how you got the ISS like that.

Saw it a few years back when it passed over Long Island NY. Super cool. Definitely seemed like a floating town ! I would have died from a heart attack if I didn’t know it was passing over. Definitely would have suspected UFO!!! Lol but so true!

Sure, you can see Europa anytime you can see Jupiter, unless it's hiding out behind Jupiter. The four Galilean moons are visible in any telescope.
