Inside info from a truck driver. Shutdowns/lockdowns & restricted travel to get far worse & enforced! Documents coming in! Urgent info!

OP, I appreciate the information you are getting out to us. We all may be in a more extreme situation than any of us have seen, other than natural disasters.

But I take issue with you in this regard. "we are in because we are more valuable than anyone in the work force. That is not a statement of ego or putting anybody else down, it is simply the fact without us nobody gets anything."

Seriously? Without the oil industry, you are toast. Without those who produce the goods, nobody gets anything. Without those who order the goods, there is nothing to load. Without those who load the goods, you have nothing to transport. Without the consumers, none of you have jobs.

Pardon me for my irritation with some truckers. But right now, the gorgeous quiet neighborhood where I live is being tormented, tortured all night every night and most weekends by a few arrogant truckers who have decided that this is a beautiful place for them to camp out in their cabs, run their engines, foul our air, and shake our homes and us to bits causing health problems and sleepless nights. Because well, as you said, you are more important than the people who buy those goods - the people you depend on for a reason to do what you do.

You don't need to believe me or even the pictures I posted, just read the comments... A bunch of people have posted they are getting their "papers" as well.

The country is getting prepared for a country wide shut down/shelter in place, martial law or whatever you want to call it.

Whatever it is it's not good.
It's looking like everybody will be on lock down and not allowed to travel.

Some types workers will be allowed to be on the move and are being given their "papers" to show to the police, military, checkpoints and etc.

The shutdowns have already started on a limited scale in California and Illinois.

I feel we don't have much time left....

Truck Drivers / Trucking companies often find out things before anybody else, especially in an emergency situation that we are in because without truck drivers everything stops and we see and learn a lot across the country and at shippers and etc.

It is now being expected that mass shutdowns/lockdowns and people not allowed to travel will get far worse.

I was given documents to show enforcement officials specifically that I am allow to travel and operate due part of the type of work I'm doing included in an expended Emergency Declaration.
It appears not all truck drivers will have work and be able to travel in the future but being I move food and other essential goods needed for life I was given special authorization.

There's a lot of stuff I'm not allowed to share but will show a little to prove this ain't just some uncle Intel.

If there is stuff you need to get done or need to buy do it now because time may seriously be limited at this point.

Identity and purpose papers will cause a revolt, especially in the case of a broken supply chain. There is not enough LE, military, etc, to enforce this nationwide.

There is a misunderstanding of what was said.
I was referring to valuable as a point of reference for information.

Truck drivers go into and see all kinds of places all over the country, including moving stuff for FEMA.

I am pointing out it is the nature of our job we see and find a lot others aren't exposed to. Even down to the point of how the economy is doing truly.
When container yards that come off ships are empty we know supply from China at that point has stopped or extremely slowed for example.
When there's less freight and rates are less that is first sign economy could starting to be get bad
Even going into the office of different types of customers you overhear a lot.

Those are a few examples of the type of stuff we see and experience.

We have exposure to so much all across the country. In that aspect we are valuable. Besides truck drivers else in the work force travels through multiple states each and everyday from Amazon warehouses, to shipping ports, to farm lands to Wal-Mart distribution centers and in each of those locations see what's going on and what employees are saying.
At a time when most everybody else will be on lockdown truck drivers will be the eyes and ears of the nation.. we are important and valuable in that way!

Yep, I have 3 neighbors in healthcare that were deemed essential and recieved their "papers".

Yes I am aware of other critical industries, what most aren't aware is everything stops without truck drivers.
Those critical health care workers wouldn't get the ventilators they need unless it was brought to them.

I'm not trying to compare or say anyone is better than another. I said that in the first post. What I'm pointing out is people should listen to truck drivers, we are on the front lines exposed to a lot.

If I walk into a toilet paper plant I can speak to people there and find out how long till they think things will be restored.

If I go into a FEMA camp to make a delivery there's a lot I can learn and see just by doing that.

If there's lockdowns by me traveling I could see if it's truly working and people staying inside or not, if there's riots or etc. There is so much stuff truck drivers can be exposed and learn.

If everybody is on lockdown you may not be able to trust the media but truck drivers see what's really going on.

So everyone is now getting papers to perform their day-to-day functions. Is this not 1930's Germany, except this time it's on a Global scale. This is Hitler's wet dream.

Why are we allowing this to happen again? Did we not learn from the past? When will the compulsory 'showers' commence?

One more thing, we jolly well know how this will end, because we know how it ended the last time.

Thanks for the info OP. This would complete the third of my predictions for this week... restricted domestic travel. Appreciate what you do and how it’s vital for us. Be safe- hope you are able to carry. I continue to pray to be wrong and you won’t need it, but my next few weeks of predictions are terrifying.

How does a business get these papers for their employees? My husband works for Central Florida's only farm that provides delivery services. He is, by all means, a milk man. The company he works for has less than 10 employees. 50 cows currently milking (150-ish total cows). He provides milk, cheese, cream, kefir, beef, pork, chicken, veggies, and elderberry syrup all over central Florida, in multiple counties. If there is a total lockdown, I would imagine agriculture would still be acceptable since if the cows don't get milked, or get fed (currently being supplemented with feed due to flooding that ruined part of the fields) they would die or starvation or develop mastitis and need to be put down... I just don't want him to experience problems while delivering. His work van clearly states on the side in huge writing what farm he works for and says "DELIVERY" on the side. He has had a huge boom in business this past week, it was a record week of sales from all the people ordering food from the farm since the stores are out of these items. Does ANYONE know of where I should direct the farm owner to get these clearance papers for him and the other delivery driver and milkers??? Thanks.

No, but I have someone very close to me who got his travel badge yesterday. Picture ID etc.

This is very real and I am quite certain checkpoints and closed highways are a reality of the very, very near future.

Not a truck driver but work in a related field in NYC. We got the word Cuomo was shutting everything down but we were "essential" so we would be working. I am told to expect my "papers" this weekend.

I work for a utility/cable company whose main jobs come from Comcast. We were issued papers today from Homeland Security deeming us essential workers, allowing us to be on the road.

Also, my best friend works as a dispatch for a trucking company in Orlando, and sent me a text today that said there are supply issues. They went from 10-20 loads a day to 0 this past week!

I got the five page letter from HS tonight also. Probably because I will be in IL for a bit.
Expect a press conference Sunday. Expect everything to be locked down early next week.

I work for a class 1 railroad and we received our papers yesterday.

Not in the medical field or US but we got something similar going on.

"Essential Person" disclaimer paper to have with me.

Also I have to have now a paper stating where, why, how long.. I am going, signed and stamped AND copies of that paper to hand out if stopped at checkpoints.
