Wow. This is true! I texted with my ex, who's a trucker, on Saturday 3/21.

He said he was "carrying 42thousand lbs of food from Salt Lake City to Denver."

We talked about how some governors of various states had asked people to stay in their homes, and I typed, "you're doing vital business."

His reply: "So much so that they've lifted all log book restrictions. I can drive any hours I want without penalty."

It didn't really click for me until I saw that post.

I should add that the friend doesn't have "papers" and he's delivering to California tommorrow.

Truck drivers go into and see all kinds of places all over the country, including moving stuff for FEMA.

I am pointing out it is the nature of our job we see and find a lot others aren't exposed to. Even down to the point of how the economy is doing truly.
When container yards that come off ships are empty we know supply from China at that point has stopped or extremely slowed for example.
When there's less freight and rates are less that is first sign economy could starting to be get bad
Even going into the office of different types of customers you overhear a lot.

Those are a few examples of the type of stuff we see and experience.

The whole point of sharing this is about stuff about to go down and info that can be helpful, instead of appreciating that you decided to attack me.

When we lose the ability to be grateful and kind to one another we truly are doomed as a society.

Freight has died entirely.
Nearly everything shut now and I'm guessing everybody stocked up on stuff by now.

I'm sitting here with no work wondering wtf I'm doing out here with no work.
Things don't change soon I'm quitting.
