So if you are living off of social security, I wonder if you get anything.

I think only if you filed taxes last year.
That way the dept of treasury knows who and where to send it to, and how many dependents you have.

(and those making over $100k don't qualify)

The free money will depreciate the USD.

Might as well get your cut we will all be paying for it in the future.

OP, you mistakenly assume EVERYONE will get a $1,200 check.

NOT TRUE.

There is a threshold in which those above a certain income will get nothing, and it’s a low threshold. I last heard it was $75,000.

That counts ME out.

I’d gladly take the $1,200 but I won’t be getting any.

My wife said she read that you do get it. My mother-in-law is on SSI.

She could be wrong but that is what she said.

Not getting one because supposedly I make too much money. Even though for the rest of 2020 it looks like I’ll make almost nothing unless I live off my stock trades.

It should be prospective not retrospective. I made a few million in 2018 and spent most of it in 2019 on hookers, fast cars, and blow. It’s not looking good for 2020.

What I've read is they're going off of 2019 tax return filings if they've received it already and 2018 filings if they haven't.
