FBI has arrested a New York man for hoarding enough medical supplies “to outfit an entire hospital.”

I was under the impression that UK gov has stamped down on price gouging because of COVID. Who knows?

What I do know is that the supermarkets are merrily gouging away.

In one of the Big Four UK supermarkets, Dettol disinfectant wipes have gone from £2/pk 72 wipes to £4/pk 72 wipes in 3 WEEKS. (These are just very thin skinny wipes dipped in bleach and soap).

Most of the Big Four have withdrawn many of their own and cheaper brands and are flogging the more expensive versions (which more often than not contain the same as the cheaper stuff).

the news article says he got arrested for terrist coughing on cops and price gouging. this is not some guy buying a few masks. it says he had a warehouse full of lots of stuff. selling it to doctors at huge markup. doctors called the cops.

In USSA you don't own anything.
There is no such thing as hoarding.
There is no such thing as price gouging.

He had a warehouse full of this stuff enough to supply several hospitals and was selling the masks at 700 times the regular cost per mask.

Let's do the math.

If a single mask cost $1 and he was selling them to doctors for $700 per mask, how is that not a crime?

I work min wage, support a child and pay my bills while living in a one room basement apt. I had managed to save a months worth of food before all of this, but I did have to give some things up. No one is going to take care of you for you, especially the government. Quit whining that other people are better with their money and figure it out. No one is making you live in a small apt, you can learn how to can, and farm, its kinda what makes this country so free...

700% not 700x. $12 a mask. Still criminal when there are price gouging laws.

For those who say it is okay to hoard as long as its your paid for property. Go through this thought exercise> Say you are fabulously wealthy and you decide to buy up all the insulin in the World just in case. This leaves no insulin for anybody else. Do your property rights supersede others right to life.

Where two rights come into conflict you have to decide which is more important.

So the blunt question is which is more important; Right to Life or Right to Property?

Don't think for a second that if he could charge $700 per mask he wouldn't do so.

Did they get that Chinese woman in Florida yet?

Is my perma-culture garden hoarding?

Will I be raided to feed all those with dead lawns of green grass?

Once their limited supplies are gone, my garden will still be going. Are you all going to raid me?

The best part about this is he will be in a filthy jail and get da flu.

If the guy went out and bought the masks AFTER the outbreak began, and then started selling them at an outrageously inflated prices... then he should be arrested for hoarding.

However, if he ALREADY had a large inventory of masks and then was selling them for inflated prices, the FBI has NO RIGHT to steal his stuff!

He was prepared before there was a crisis! Therefore he should be the beneficiary of his preparedness!

Just because we're short on housing doesn't mean the govt can come and take your cabin and sell it to someone else!

Same goes for any other commodity.



The thing is though is that the FBI is being controlled by demons...

So you'll never see those masks again. They'll be put away in storage for some future court battle... until everyone is infected.

Those masks are $6 to $9 at HOME DEPOT!

Should the FBI go out and arrest the owners of HOME DEPOT for making a profit?

Selling at that price is TOTALLY JUSTIFIED *IF* he had possession of the masks BEFORE the crisis began and someone wanted to pay that much for them.

Its like DIAMONDS... there aren't that many... so the price is high.

Yeah! Damn those people who thought ahead of time and prepped! How dare they think of their families and actually prepare themselves!!!! Arrest the thinkers, Arrest them all!!!!

Imagine Government agency's that get billions of dollars a year not being prepared for a pandemic. Imagine those agency's not having stock piles of the most basic equipment, PPE's

Exactly, also if we had a real government then it would be a national security concern that so many would starve in a serious crisis and they would urge everyone to grow perma-culture gardens/orchards and have chicken coops in every yard.

Who was the individual? Was he/she a Chinese communist supporter or a Chinese agent...saw a few reports of people who support CCP and/or are anti US buying emergency supplies so Americans could not get any? Just asking...not implying that there is some level of a Chinese operation going on...

The above was a distributor selling them on his own.

They also found a supplier that can produce some 20 million protective masks per week and another that can supply millions of protective face shields.

How convenient! Where were these people last month?
