WHO HERE PERSONALLY KNOWS SOMEONE THAT IS CRITICALLY ILL OR WHO HAS DIED FROM COVID-19

It's not very widespread in my area yet.
I expect a lot will die from it when it does become widespread here though.
Lot of old people with health problems in my county.

So my answer is not yet.

I know a few people who live in New York City. I expected a couple of them to die and others to get sick/test positive at some point. Some of them are old.

So far, all of them are fine, alive, well, no symptoms, not positive. Not a single fucking one.

Can that change quickly? Yes. But after weeks of them going out in public, taking the train, going to the store... none of them are sick.

What the fuck is going on here? Not only do all the people in NYC that I know not catch the virus, they don't know anyone personally who has either.

I'm not a hoax tard or nothingburger person. I honestly expected I'd have some deaths at this point. And no one is sick. No one has died. No one even has the sniffles.

I expect to call someone in NYC and hear them crying, sounding deathly ill. Scared over the death of someone they knew, a neighbor, a co-worker, a friend... and nothing. Everyone is fine and well. Just locked in their houses.

Right, I guess the original question could be expanded to include knowing someone who knows someone. But quite honestly, given the number of reported "infections" and "deaths" it would seem someone on GLP would know someone personally who has been affected by COVID.

FUCK you! I know two people that were the first in onondaga county NY that got it. Husband and wife, He stayed home and got through it, she died inside of 7 days and the husband was not allowed to say goodbye. This shit is real you pile of fucking trash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We haven't hit the peak of this shit yet. its 7-15 days away before all shit hell breaks loose.

people are going ot be convinced the problem is getting worse. Ironically, once wave 1 people start dying in mass, that's the beginning of the 2nd phase of wave 1 where things start dying down rather quickly

I don't know anyone, and neither does my husband who is still out in the world working. I'm in South Carolina, and have relatives in Florida. Nobody knows anyone with the virus.

Yes, a parent of a former student has died - but he was not in great health to begin with. I also have a close family member who has it, but is young and healthy, and so far just minor symptoms (I just pray it doesn't get worse).

I am in a "hotspot" county a little north of Louisville, KY. I do not know a single person that has got the virus. Neither does anybody else I know. I have a really good friend that is an ER nurse in the local hospital. The largest hospital in this "hotspot", in fact. She says that they are letting her leave work early due to how slow it is. She says there isn't ANYTHING going on. Just a whole lot of workers that are scared and people coming in that think they have the virus after watching the news for the last 2 weeks. You can call me a shill or whatever. Just telling you how it is here.

My father-in-law tested positive a few weeks ago. He had a fever of 103 for two days and his kidneys started to shut down. They had him in the hospital for one night, then sent him home saying they couldn't do anything more for him. Good new is though, he is making a fast recovery on his own.

My sister-in-law tested positive two or three days ago. The doctors told her she could keep breast feeding her four month old, even with a fever. They said covid couldn't pass through the milk to the baby.... I don't believe that bull but not my call.

It would be protective for her baby.

My Husbands whole family is sick (mother on life support) his father just died a few days ago and now his cousin is in the hospital. Also people who worked at his parents business are all mostly sick (all in Brooklyn) on the other hand my family are all doing well and none of them are feeling sick but my sisters husband has been exposed and is on quarantine in their house and so far they are all okay (also in Brooklyn)
My friend told me his family is sick too with Covid (also in NYC )
