Quoting: Love_Goddess I was told that only one checkout line was accepting cash, and that there would be a long wait for it. I declined to wait and paid by credit card instead. I suspect this time next week no one will be accepting cash at all. Cashless society..here we come!! I had a cashier look at me funny, too. This virus is the perfect way to get people to look down on cash. Ah, you experienced it too? And yes, it really is! We are watching events we have discussed on GLP for years unfold into the real world very rapidly now. Some days I think I must be dreaming!! Just paid a auto body shop cash but they were trying get me to pay by phone. I said sorry im bringing cash. Yes, they're allowing it for now it seems, but balking at it. I think they will be tightening up over the coming days/weeks. OP has confirmed it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78518147 their stated goal was they did not want anyone to carry anything tangible in the distant future and were pushing for credit cards over cash at that time. it shocked me and i had to keep rereading it over to make sure i read it correctly. the goal is the people everywhere would be completely cashless and the credit cards were a baby step in accomplishing this. When Your Money Fails, by Mary Stewart Relfe PhD, 1981 She worked for IBM and foretold everything that since has come down. I tried to link a site where you can read it but GLP blocked the link. Go look for it. Fast read and very interesting. In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined: With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world, And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor. Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator. “Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.” – Nasseim Haramein, Director of Research for the Resonance Project |

Credit cards have always fit that description. As long as you have the card in your hand, or can give the number from memory (your head), then you can buy and they can sell. Once they become mandatory then this prophecy will have been fulfilled. Most won't accept this theory for it would mean they have already accepted the mark. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78734592 United States 04/04/2020 07:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | WIKI on "legal tender". Contrary to common misconception, there is no federal law stating that a private business, a person, or a government organization must accept currency or coins for payment. Private businesses are free to create their own policies on whether they accept cash, unless there is a specific state law which says otherwise. For example, a bus line may prohibit payment of fares in cents or dollar bills. In addition, movie theaters, convenience stores, and gas stations may refuse to accept large denomination currency as a matter of policy or safety. The principal purpose of that statute is to ensure the nationwide acceptance of U.S. currency, consistent with constitutional language that reserves to Congress the power to create a uniform currency that holds the same value throughout the United States. While the statute provides that U.S. money is legal tender that may be accepted for the payment of debts, it does not require acceptance of cash payments, nor does it provide that restrictions cannot be imposed upon the acceptance of cash. |
