I truly loved this. Yes, because I’m from Michigan but also, kindness should cross party lines. I think loyalty to party is getting out of hand these days, so when politics can be set aside for a moment just to spread positivity, that’s humanism at its finest.

Thank you!! I had to leave GLP this afternoon to *GASP* venture outside and go to the grocery store. From the warnings that I’ve been reading here, I anticipated a line outside and a limit of people allowed in the store. I figured “non-essential” items would be roped off and I wouldn’t be able to get birthday supplies for a family member. Frankly, it’s always GLP DOOOOOM to the point of increased paranoia, to be honest, but what I experienced today was so heartwarming!

I am a big believer of you’ll get what you give out, so if you go to the store anticipating everyone to be rude, you’ll likely end up having an experience that upholds that narrative. But I went in, said “hello,” to everyone; I said “thank you” to every worker I came across; and I decided to be eXtRa, ExTrA cheesy and pass out smiley face stickers to anyone whom I walked by. More times than not, I used humor to either joke with someone that I needed them to “back up six feet” and provide more room between us, or if I felt it was more appropriate to proceed in a serious manner, I simply asked if they mind if I came closer than six feet to them. I was received well. Not just well, but overwhelming positively.

EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. was not only kind and open to the joke or kind gesture, they ALL welcomed it and truly appreciated the little bit of positivity in such an unprecedented time. There were even tears by one very appreciative woman working her butt off. I truly cannot think of a better time than now to be kind to others and to be human with one another; we haven’t lost the greatest parts of ourselves, it just may be a little harder to showcase them these days - even more reason to do so!

It was an absolutely amazing trip out and there wasn’t a single negative interaction or response! I think everyone is so damn afraid but truthfully, none of us have the answers; not even the ones “in-charge” know what to do. So, we might as well stick together and have a smile and laugh while we’re doing so.

And just to fill the DOOM quota, if this is the apocalypse, I want to go out having a good time and spreading love like there’s no tomorrow.

Kudos to you on the hard work you do, Mr. it must be very fulfilling to be so knowledgeable in something and have others count on your know-how and opinions to the point of running their companies based on it. That’s amazing.
