It has been twenty years since the last Great War broke out. All people are dead, but automatons continue obediently follow orders. On the computerized base, machines fuel and charge the weapons of last surviving bomber, as it prepares to drop bombs on a long dead enemy city. This conflict grinds on, until the echo of mankind subsides completely. |

The layers of weirdness and symbolism are jawdropping. Lucky for me there is a lot of discussion on that very aspect-symbolism-on the internet. Gaining that understanding after watching it made it an experience more than a movie. Well it WAS an experience no matter what. Maybe that is the best kind of movie... |

Self funded fan base makes their own movie. Gets violent and dark and eerie. Each episode short but the quality is high. Millions of views. Part One of Astartes, a Warhammer 40,000 fan film project. |

The 5th and final ep of Astartes dropped not long ago...You should check out Death of hope part 1:Anarchy Reigns and the Helsreach series if you was interested in the 40k universe... |

Genetic engineers hope to achieve fame by successfully splicing together the DNA of different animals to create new hybrid animals for medical use. Hmm, try an 80s flick called Runaway with Tom Selleck Written and directed by Chrichton. Also Timeline... but that one goes astray a bit. Dark City. Videodrome... but keep your brain relatively “straight” for that one |

When you run out of movies you haven't seen, you need to start watching the Korean and Brazilian or Portuguese movies that have English subs/dubs. Just as good as anything else from Hollywood. Last Train to Busan (anything by this director is the shit) The Wandering Earth The Last Days Ilang: The Wolf Brigade Okja Flu Psychokinesis Sector 7 Deranged Some great sci fi series to stream 3% Dark West World Eureka Warehouse 13 Stargate SG:1, Atlantis, Universe Farscape Watchmen Expanse (top choice here) The 100 I'm an artist, self employed painter like the OP, been at it a very long time, since the turn of the century. Eventually you just run out of shit to watch and end up watching anime because at least there is ongoing/new content. I feel that. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78712829 That movie scared the piss out of me when I was a kid! I need to watch it sometime. I was just really convinced it was real and I was paranoid when I went out at night. It only lasted a few days but still. Well, I believe it was based on a true story..... Bama_Lisa77 |
