It's actually a reasonably clever ploy by the White House. And Twitter wont back down because it would be worse for them PR wise if they did. If you go to the link, there is a note from Twitter saying that ordinarily they'd remove the tweet but that they're going to go ahead and leave it because it might be of public interest. Or some such gobbledegook. Politically correct CYA. Well yeah, but Trump wanted Twitter to react like that to an "official" tweet, not just his own personal one, that was my point. When I read their little note, it seemed to me that they'd probably gotten a quick phone call from one of their numerous lawyers who said a lot of sentences beginning with "You DO realize that...." interspersed with the occasional "You do REALIZE that.....". Someone on THEIR side saw through the White House ploy.
