Merriam-Webster Dictionary to change the definition of #racism

Leftism requires its adherents to simultaneously embrace 2 equally opposite viewpoints (often more than 2). This is only one example, but you will find it in virtually every facet of their ideology.

Logic has no place in any discussion with or regarding Leftists. It's all about feelings.

Leftists love to manipulate language - they twist it, skew it, weaponize words and confuse people with revised definitions.

Look at how the left define gender: Men can have periods now. Women can get prostrate examinations. Leftists would have us believe there are more than 2 genders - in fact, they believe there are 58 genders:

What Do These Tactics Look Like?
It starts with misusing words or defining them based on circumstance rather than objective meaning. The entire purpose of defined language is to hold constant meaning so others can understand. Situational use starts to condition how people feel about words, building up a new connotation.

When the word cannot be flipped, other words are sometimes added to suggest a new meaning. In the case of firearms, the new popular phrase is “assault rifle.” Webster’s Dictionary was happy to update its definition to help nudge society in the right direction. The effect is a stronger connotation, which plays on people’s emotion and visceral reactions to the phrase...

Merriam-Webster used to be the definitive dictionary for American English.

Then in 1961 with the publication of its Third New International Dictionary, it went from "prescriptive" to "descriptive." The 3rd NID (the basis for all current Merriam-Webster dictionaries) was widely criticized at the time. Kurt Vonnegut wrote an essay condemning it, that was included in his Welcome to the Monkey House anthology.

With the Eighth New Collegiate Dictionary, they dropped their very useful "Pronouncing Vocabulary of Common English Given Names" (apparently for being "non-inclusive").

I think Merriam-Webster is going back to being "prescriptive"--only instead of prescribing correct English usage, they are prescribing what they consider to be correct ideology.

The other dictionaries are really no better. I remember getting a Random House Unabridged Dictionary some years ago, and thinking it was like a giant slang dictionary.

The American Heritage Dictionary is not so bad, and the Oxford American Dictionary is not so bad.

I would really, really caution new speak redefinition dictionaries. Those fouling the language may start a chain reaction when finally manifested results in a scorched Earth scenario as the instigators commit their own extermination.
