Not so much the case now as customers tend to just get a few things, and shop more regularly for special offers. I have thought for a long time they would close it and move to a smaller premises, especially as this depression hits, people are just gonna get bits and shop around for bargains. Also because it is a large store stealing was rife, and the heating and lighting as got to cost a lot. Since the lockdown, items just look spaced out, either they haven't got the stock, or it would just take thousands upon thousands of pounds to fill it, with stuff that may not sell or as a shelf life. That's my take on it x Yes. We have some big Meijer stores and they hardly have any customers and the shelves are massively spaced out and not full like they used to be. I wonder how places like this can continue with no one buying like before? Maybe they have online ordering keeping them afloat? We'll know by the end of this year. |

They are self-liquidating because cost and they know they only have a narrow "re-open" window to do it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72337722 And... Because the big liquidator companies are overwhelmed and can't move the product to other retailers because there are no other retailers now. They can't even load it and ship it to dump it in Africa or South America. So this is why. That's exactly what is happening at Ross. I was in one yesterday to buy some sheets and at least half the shelves were empty. All the shelves for sheets were empty. So I went to another Ross. Same scene. With nothing even on the shelves to sell, how can they survive even another month? There empty at hardware stores and grocery stores. This is very sad times. Shoot stright |

They really do have a narrow window. All I would have needed to make the decision to close for good would be seeing Trump at one of his circus pressers, especially the one were he exploded at rage when the governor of Georgia re-opened the economy. Trump's body language at the covid pressers is also very telling. Watch one with the sound off where he does his hand slash and cross move when talks about shutting down the economy. He's doing an upside down cross. Like a satanic blessing. He he may be doing it unconsciously but it looks bad with no sound. He's oblivious to the pain and destruction he cause with his emergency order, then runs like a coward for the order he gave that's still wrecking havoc world wide. He's spoiling for wars yet he has Ford and GM remaining plants in the US building ventilators instead of cars. It would be comically foolish if millions of Americans weren't going to die from starvation, homelessness, suicide, disease caused by him keeping hospitals shut down. His actions and evil aren't apart of the actions and evil of Cuomo, Whitmer and Inslee. They are coordinated with theirs. All the evil politicians he whines about who are "out to get him" are the ones he spends his days on the phone with. Kissing their ass. There's no future for any type business in the US. The Germans are right. The US won't be part of NATO because there won't a US soon. Not one with an economy. |
