Re: Has anyone here ever actually lived in a communist country?
Communism felt like a kindergarten - the supervisors ensured that people got their bland but regular meals (both literally and figuratively), that they were taken care of and properly educated. The news was filtered - make-believe positivity... rose-coloured glasses... lullabies. As in any kindergarten, we were constantly watched, disciplined and reprimanded. Individuality was not encouraged, was thought to be a frivolity. And the door to the outer world was safely locked.

Few people remember that Confucianism was the official state religion under the Tokugawa...good for you. Legalistic in tone.

“The Law” still has a kind of sacred status in Japan.

East Asians cannot self-sustain democracy. Japan, S.Korea, Taiwan were all occupied by the West, and had democracy foisted onto them

The East Asians prefer very strong warlord type rulers, due to a hive-mind tendency. Attila, Genghis Khan, Tamerlane, Chinese despotic emperors, Japanese Shoguns etc.

The Kim Jong family dynasty seizing power in N.Korea, and now Xi Jinping in China, under the guise of "communism" is another example. Actually they're EMPERORS, with almost godlike powers.

The Mandate of Heaven.

Communism in the East is only an outer jacket for something else inside of it. Surprise soon coming for the West and also GLPers here are very naïve too about that with all that "fuck China, fuck Communists". It's not about that at all.

It is funny for me how Americans call lgbt people and killary supporters communists. There were no gays under communism. Everyone who got caught with it were in jail for long time, or killed. As a Christian my family were against communism, but education and health system were the best. Healthcare was free for everyone.

I lived only till I was 6. It all ended in 1991. My parents remember everything. They were not involved in communism, because they are Christians.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78731861

How were they treated as Christians in the nation prior to 1991?
 Quoting: Ordovician

They hated Christians, my parents were not able to get gold medal after schools only because they were Christians. Christians were not able to get good jobs, because if you are not in communist party, you are nothing. My dad was beaten in army because he signed a paper, that he is Christian and not going to touch weapons. I'm just like him, and never had a gun and never will.

SO would you call the police (that will use weapons) to defend you and your family should something happen, or are you totally opposed to violence and would willingly give everything you have to someone that had the intention to take it?

4 Communist Countries on the Planet.
China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea.
 Quoting: Mistress C

Wrong.

All the EAST Asian countries, that profess "Communism" are fake.

They're actually Asian Empires, based on that of Quin Shih Huang, Attila, Tamerlane, Genghis Khan, Imperial Japan.

For example North Korea is heriditary rule, which was NOT allowed in true Communism.

Similarly Xi Jinping has removed term limits. And big-business including billionaires like Jack Ma, are allowed in China. So again no longer communist.

.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78481048

Right.

It's Tian Ming mostly in China, Korea and Japan, all Sino-civilization models.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72877847

What is interesting is Business has taken on a very high status in East Asia since the 20th century.

In the traditional days, the hierarchy was Royal/Imperial at the top, followed by warriors, farmers, then artisans, and last “peddlers” and business people, who were always seen as less than dirt, even when rich...their status was like a prostitute or “entertainer.” Almost like the untouchable class in India, even though some made huge money. Often they were just considered criminals.

Now in Korea, China, and Japan money and business are basically almost at the top of the pyramid...there was a time when a humble village teacher would be more respected than a business man...that ended long ago...in the 20s for Japan, maybe in the 80s for China.
 Quoting: Ordovician

Yes, traders and business people are of the lowest kind by tradition, no respect for them. Samurai/Bushi and Ru China class despised them, now they are on the top which is wrong.

Actually, Communism is only 100 years old, and its almost dead now. Its actually derived from Western socialist democracy and the French revolution.

However mighty East Asian warlords and conquerors, such as Quin Shih Huang, Attila, Genghis Khan, Tamerlane, Imperial Japan, have been slaughering tens of millions of people from 2000 years ago. And they were certainly NOT communist.

So the problems are not so simple to solve.

Communism is not dead and is alive and more powerful than ever in the American, Western Deep State. The founding father of modern Zi.nism, Moses Hess, was also a founding father of Communism. The Deep State vermin who pulled-off the violent, proxy overthrow of Yanukovych in 2014, and who are also behind the Arab Spring, Syrian Rebels, ISIS, and the ongoing domestic unrest Stateside, are the descendants of the Communist vermin who overthrew Christian Russia in 1917 using the same modus operandi of color revolution and "peaceful protests.". Putin undid all their hard work in Russia and kicked them out and seized their ill gotten gains: this, coupled with their congenital hatred of Russia, is the reason for the non-stop, bipartisan refrain of "Russia, Russia, Russia." They also perceive Donald Trump to be just as much a threat as Putin is to their Communist worldview, which is why they are currently in the process of overthrowing America and all our traditions and monuments with the same modus operandi that was used to such success in 1917.

I lived in the Soviet Union (Estonia) until it broke up and I was free to move to USA.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry when people here call USA or UK as communist countries. It's ridiculous and shows that they have no idea what living under real communism is like.

On one hand if everyone is provided for, that part sounds good. Starving doesn't sound like provisions were met.

Do people live blandly or is one allowed to paint a room?

Is the family unit encouraged or discouraged in communism?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75507758

But of course you could paint your room in whatever colour you wished (as long as you could find colourful latex paint at the shops. If not, you had to resort to ingenuity, mix and so on.)
As a teen, I wanted my room to be chocolate brown (I know.. I know tomato), and as they didn't have such deep brown tint at the shops, the painting guy mixed some oil paint into the latex. The result was ridiculously off the mark but I was so happy coz it was different. The suppression of individuality nurtured our rebel spirit and our creativity. This must've been one of the positive sides of communism

Just curious.

Read "Life and Death in Shanghai" by Nien Cheng (1987) if you want a firsthand honest account before Soros took over our printing houses.

This book's account has been verified by a firsthand defector friend.

Re: Has anyone here ever actually lived in a communist country?
Communism is a scam
Its marxism with the goal of fisting a pnnzi scheme to strip every crumb of value from the public and their state and create a neomonarchy which will inevitably fail leaving a smoking hole and a destroyed public and nationality whlle the few elites/oligarchs run off to a tiny country with no extradition or concern with the wealth.

The intent is to totally strip, destroy and exterminate all others as expeditiously as possible, leaving total chaos and lingering thought control making restoration of previous normal christian society impossible.

Re: Has anyone here ever actually lived in a communist country?
I lived in Ukraine in the early 90s at the fall of the Soviet Union. Much of the broken communist system was still in effect. The people told me horror stories and were relieved to have some starts of freedom and capitalism.

Most ate bread, they grew their own potatoes and onions and harvested dachas (5 acre gardens outside town) on weekends and worked government appointed jobs for very little pay. Their pay covered utilities. People struggled to buy bus passes. It was a world of common poor or lower middle class. Government officials were rich. It was filled with corruption. The government officials like Putin took over the government industries. Public utilities turned off in our building all the time. Water had to be boiled to drink. Our hot water would shut off for two weeks at a time, centrally controlled. Alcoholism was rampant. Drunks laid passed out. People put newspapers on the faces of the passed out so they didn’t sun burn.

Many women were Prostitutes. Medicine was stuck in the 1950s. A friend of ours had a root canal with no anesthesia. I heard stories of the re-education gulags, KGB agents taking a fancy to your wife and she had to put out or you went to the camps or worse.

Another part that bothered me was the system control. Listening devices in the apartment walls, neighbors encouraged to rat out each other, families being investigated if kids said the wrong thing at school. People were black listed and removed from the communist party which left you unable to get any of the system support. Those people had no way to make a sucky living.

The people endured stuffI couldn’t imagine. Their store shelves were always bare. Materials and imports were scarce. I lived there two years. I went there as a healthy 180 lbs and came back to the USA two years later weighing 135lbs. I had money but food was still difficult to come by.

Communism is horrible for the individual, even if you are a good commie, there’s no opportunity to change your family situation. I dread this mistake is about come upon the USA and the world. Two countries that won’t be communist any time soon are Russia and Ukraine because they know it sucks.

Show me one properly run communist nation! By definition, where the country isn't actually facist.

Its always the same, its one shibbileth piled on another, and the intent is to identify insiders and confuse and expose outsiders, and to play endless permutations of word games to hide the real instigators and the methodology.

This is just about extortion, theft and getting rid of the witnesses and prevention of any defense against it.

Re: Has anyone here ever actually lived in a communist country?

East Asians cannot self-sustain democracy. Japan, S.Korea, Taiwan were all occupied by the West, and had democracy foisted onto them

The East Asians prefer very strong warlord type rulers, due to a hive-mind tendency. Attila, Genghis Khan, Tamerlane, Chinese despotic emperors, Japanese Shoguns etc.

The Kim Jong family dynasty seizing power in N.Korea, and now Xi Jinping in China, under the guise of "communism" is another example. Actually they're EMPERORS, with almost godlike powers.

The Mandate of Heaven.

.
 Quoting: Ordovician

Yes, Westerners have no real idea what is all about in The East Asia. Tian Ming - The Mandate of Heaven is all about, from the start of Zhou Dynasty and that is more than 3000 years ago.

I am Westerner, Slovenian for real, but I am in the know, very rare.
Communism in the East is only an outer jacket for something else inside of it. Surprise soon coming for the West and also GLPers here are very naïve too about that with all that "fuck China, fuck Communists". It's not about that at all.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78481048

Yep, most people on GLP and in the West, think Communism is the bogeyman, which if destroyed will bring an utopia.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72877847

Exactly. Communism is just Satanism if you take it all the way back. It’s Judaic in its most raw form and is the idea that we (the tribe) will be our own messiah. Government will provide the tenets of the Messiah and we will control it. It’s why when you read the tenets of Communism it’s a utopia. Once they rejected Christ and no messiah ever showed up, they in their pride decided to create their own human version of what they were waiting for.
And of course this is just all another road to Gd in their minds that leads to failure and hell. The rejection of Christ is the problem, not trying to drum up your own version.

You better load up, son.
There’s no place for pacifists anymore.

As a Christian I will never buy a gun or any weapon. I trust God 100%. I'd rather die than hurt anyone. I live in US for 18 years, visited most states and never had any conflicts. Christ didn't have any weapons, why should I?

The most terrifying weapons on the planet live in places like your local POND. Brain eating amoeba anyone?

A flock of angry chickens can even make a "brave" dude with a gun run for his life.

Think outside of the box and do REAL SCIENCE.
