What did Jesus mean when he said "I tell you today you will be with me in paradise" tLk23:43

I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.

After a long study I believe above is the proper translation.

The whole thing about all of us having to wait for judgement day was B.S.


Christ's salvation doesn't have to wait for that.


That doctrine was a belief of the Israelites, the vision of the dead bones of Israel coming back to life really had to do with the State of Israel coming back into existence.


After Christ's death, his apostles (especially Paul) and their successors (the "doctors of the church") twisted his teachings probably into something he would barely recognize.

ok OP..Today I tell you that one day you will be 50...Another example..today I tell you that you will see me again.One more time..Today I tell to you will be with me in heaven..It does not have to mean this day..I am simply telling you today that this or that may happen..It is simply a misread scripture taken as he meant that that day it world happen..

Commas are important!

"To day" comes after the comma, not before.


Now you could argue the KJV translators had it wrong...

This is a characteristic of Oriental speech implying that the promise was made on a certain day and would surely be kept.” Therefore, the Greek phrase at Lu 23:43 may reflect a Semitic way of expressing emphasis. The Hebrew Scriptures provide numerous examples of the idiomatic usage of “today” in solemn expressions, such as promises and commands.

Did Jesus mean the evil doer would be resurrected in heaven to serve as assistant king, or on earth to make Edenic paradise during the 1,000 year reign?

Thou shalt not commit an adult tree.

It means there is an eternal today. We are in the movie while we watch in the theater. Today you are in Paradise.

To paradise, Abramam's Bosom. To wait, well Jesus went there to inform those who died under the law about salvation, the other guy is waiting along with everyone else who has ever died. They wait on one side of the gulf or the other...

Obviously that excludes Jesus, he isn't waiting, he is at the right hand of the Father. He only spend 3 days on the bad side of paradise.

Jesus symbolizes the creator subconscious mind, the deep beliefs creating the external reality of the criminal.

The story is saying that even though the criminal created the situation of his demise, he was not ultimately at game over, as the deeper root of reality, eternal consciousness, doesn't end. The criminal and Jesus are of the same.

It's like quantum entanglement. Where one exist, so does the other. Jesus is both in paradise and in pain on the cross (in human life), and where Jesus is, so is the individual across all time, space, and circumstance.

It meant the destination of all humans who peruse eternity is Paradse...the central isle of the entire creation... I am from there and I started out human and went thru the whole thing and arrived on Paradise.. it takes millions of years at least.

Now go and read the Urantia Book because its all in there and a huge section on the glorious outcomes of Humans through out the creation.
