I"m not a doctor or scientist of course. I wonder if it's an even simpler explanation. Smokers have mucus buildup on the lungs. Virus has to reach the lungs to do maximum damage/kill people. Wonder if the virus is unable to penetrate smokers mucus buildup and they are simply coughing it out of their lungs while it's stuck in the mucus before it can grab a foothold.

Sounds like a nicotine patch would work just as well as smoking the stick itself....then you don't have to ingest the "OTHER" 600 chemicals added to a single cigarette.

All the people i ve seen sick around (ten or more) of me are ALL non-smokers. I smoke and didn t have that shit. Facts are facts...

My wife, her sister, her nephew, her niece and her cousin had a family get together six weeks ago. The cousin began exhibiting symptoms the next day. She tested positive and apparently got it from a coworker. My sister in law developed symptoms 5 days later. My niece developed symptoms 6 days later. My wife and nephew never developed symptoms six weeks on.

My wife and nephew smoke tobacco. The cousin doesn't smoke. My sister in law vapes nicotine. My niece smokes weed but not tobacco.

This suggests nicotine alone is not prophylactic and vaping is not effective. There's something else in tobacco smoke providing protection. It also suggests smoking weed is not effective.

That is partly correct. There was university study of mice a while back. Mice that were being studied for tobacco were given equivalent of 200 cigs a day. After study finished, the same mice were accidentally used for a pollution study. They should have been destroyed after the first study but weren’t.

The second study concluded smoking offers a level of protection against airborne particulates, as it creates a layer of mucous on lungs that prevents absorption into the body.

Pretty sure it was university of Ottawa that did the study....
