The button would be the contact surface if the doll were vertically (normally) oriented. Such that when you sit her down the button activates. Kinda weird laying it onits back with its legs in the air and the noises are certainly suspect.

Very strange indeed. Companies usually try to cut costs wherever they can on toys, but they had to actually add another whole button on the body of the toy just for it to do this, so it isn't a mistake. It could possibly be a knockoff toy designed to discredit the real toy brand though, so we will have to wait a bit and see how this plays out.
