Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77744597 Anyone with other pieces to this little puzzle? IMO the other pieces are coin shortage, aluminum shortage, broken supply chain with china, kodak making pharmaceuticals...we are ramping up mining. Possibly for building missiles & planes (war). The only thing that makes any sense with a coin shortage is they are being melted for their metals. It's not like we didn't have enough coins to go around. Hay we cant get the aluminum parts we need now. They have stopped shipping. Wonder how long before we cant get carbide? |

And then they vibrate the ground - right? Yes 22 foot anchors. They are not drilled though they are driven down with hydraulic power and when they get pulled back up they expand and grab the earth. |

I couldn't say where they are going though, but I do know that government work is involved because he had to undergo a special background check when he first hired because they do provide to the government (although I'm sure they also provide to people other than government) and you can only get on site by having to go through a guard shack. Quoting: TrustNoOneKS TY Yes this industry is wide open. Hell we all got 400 dollar bonuses this week. They are working again Saturday. What gives? Why is earth moving so profitable right now? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77744597 Anyone with other pieces to this little puzzle? Government contractors I would add and: 1) ~15 feet "mouth" radius, 2) shipping to several states, you stated... 15 feet seems too large for "water" needs, considering this atypical orders' volume you mentioned and shipment to several states at same time frame but it seems to fit for vehicle and people tunnels, considering that several states are being comprised and "mining" use to be private companies, not govt contractors what else could be happening to be much demanded by gov contractors, underground and under the radar, spreaded through several states? I cant figure this out. What's going on with this massive uptick during a shutdown. Fewer witnesses to see what they are digging since they are all at home. Few people watch the footers being bored for the new electric tower pylons, as our existing electric grid gets rebuilt. I seen where they lay wide wooden roads to the sites, then just as quickly remove them when the work is done. Nothing really secret about it, unless the landowner doesn't want the general public traipsing across his land without permission. That's cool, are they really upgrading the electrical grid? I'm sure it needs it! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75934374 There is no way I can get into large bore drilling / cutting / boring, but are there other things that you get asked for by your clients? I am in radiant insulation, window tinting, insulated greenhouse covering and reflective films. What associated industry should I expand into? All the solar panels are from China. Can anything you are doing convert to solar panel manufacturing? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78442452 Australia 09/09/2020 08:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Our water table is too low in Miami to really dig here. The ground is geologically stable. The rock under us is coral stone. It's just that were 6' on average above sea level. And fresh water is just a few feet down. There's b1, b2 level parking in places yes. Just not the most ideal place to dig. And yes we do have road projects going on here that would explain it. |
