Empty shelves make you buy more than normal?

No, I buy what I want...if it's gone I find a substitute...

For example, the TP I normally buy is the one ply generic...it won't stop up the pipes, but it was gone and I had to buy the stuff that feels like your wiping with a wash cloth...same shit, different day!

When something is buy one and get one free, I demand 1/2 off of just one...Kroger complies...

I had a period during my late teens when I starved, because I was broke.

I'm terrified of putting my kids through that. Seeing the empty shelves puts a chill down my spine.

I usually buy marathon from Costco for the same reason. Thankfully I have plenty still, but it seems like it's not coming back. I grabbed some pluffy stuff as backup to fill in the blanks for now.

We cant get some things lately. Not sure whats going on but lots of stuff our distributors say is on back order.

Like we desperately need lighter fluid but currently there is a 4 month backorder.

When I was starving, It had taken months for me to get there. I had been living off of Ramen noodles for months at that point. I finally stopped paying my bills and bought groceries. Credit went to shit, took me a decade to get things back to good.

We have a garden and chickens now. Our shelves are fairly stocked. We should be fine, but I still keep buying extra just in case.

I have been binge buying.....basically I buy 10 prep related items on my weekly visits to the supermarket....it adds up quickly and doesn't put a noticeable dent on the budget....BUT I been doing this since May....

I believe Sept. will bring the masses to the markets.....then you will see real shortages again....
