What's the point of attending high school reunion?

I was bullied, too. Those girls hated me and never knew why. Ten years later all of them were sending me friend requests on Facebook... oh, my, I blocked them cuz they kept adding me. Why they want to be my friend on Facebook when they are so mean to me? One of them (the fat whale) took my math and physic notebooks just one week before the final exams to end the school year, I had to make copies from other classmates in order to study. They used to write mean things about me on the bathrooms’ walls.

ETA... they still want to be my friends. But I really don’t know why they want to be my friends now...

My 10 year was fun a drunken party.And I never seen so much azz literally .

Went to my 50th, have to say I had most of them figured out then. Had to validate my theories. Boom. Oh saw my first crush, confess to her and totally pissed her hubby.

Went to a the biggies, except the last one, and enjoyed them all.

Went to HS during the Vietnam War and many of the kids had older brothers serving, and sometimes dying, there. As a result my high school classmates were more grounded in reality at that age than those who came before and after us, and as a result all those petty high school games (rivalries, in crowd /out crowd, good looking vs nerds, smart vs dumb) didn't exist for our class (or the couple of classes immediately ahead of us and the class immediately behind us). Overall almost entirely a bunch of really good people I would have to say.

I will go back to my next one but I understand that many more have now died. Those damn insurance actuary death tables are catching up with my class after decades of my class beating the insurance odds by a large margin. Damn actuaries!! (obviously the first group we need to get rid of once the revolution occurs so as to stop this "death" nonsense!!)

Found a couple on fb (the hot cheerleaders) are now 400lbs, 3-4 kids twice divorced.
No thanks: I'll keep my memories, reality is little too hard to take.
It' a shame really they were really pretty.

It's a sheep ritual. Like all organized events, it only appeals to the most base and sub intellectual.
Go and see your old buddies and their disgusting wives. Compare weights and bank balances, lie about both if you can hide your fat ass and find out first hand just how pointless everyone's existence really is.

People that make a big deal about it are normally the most vapid then and now. I went, it was no big deal. Its' worth it to see the circus of people still trying to prove themselves. Strangely I mostly talked to people I didn;t have much in common with back then. I got bigger things going on than holding a life-long grudge against the football player that laughed at me in English class 20 years ago. I grilled a steak with him and met his family. No big deal. I think most people recall vividly when they are picked on but seem to forget all the people they pick on. High school memories have a lot of saintly victims. move on.

I've never been to one either, money grab scheme nothing more.

I’m in better mindset and physical condition that when I was younger. If I go, I’d be the guy that addresses the bullies and diss the ones who were sleeping with my girlfriend. I was a non confrontational person back then, didn’t have low self esteem, but people thought I did and often tried to take advantage of me, in my older years many HS friends learned that I wasn’t into paying their way cuz I had a job or a place of my own. I raised to the top of a particular food chain they will never attain and hence have little desire to pull skeletons from the closet,

Man I got words I could say at a table that would turn the place into a Portland riot...Funny thing is half of them are on my FB and are often shocked at my conservatives posts but never say happy birthday or contribute to shit.

I like to keep my enemies close. And if you are like minded to me, you have done the same cuz in the end, these most likely aren’t people you want to be associated with.

So, yeah I do them the favor and don’t go.

High School reunions are great opportunities to update your mental spank bank.

I just passed my 20th and never attended any of them. This thread did trigger a funny memory about the first scheduled reunion, must have been the 5yr.

I bumped into one of the popular girls from HS and she asked if I had attended the 5yr reunion. I answered No, and she responded "No one did cause the two tasked with organizing it stole the funds and took some type of island vacation."

I admit it would be funny to attend and look down at the lil bald headed dudes. I stood 6'2" the day I registered for my freshman year at 14yrs old. Still have the hairline of a 19yr old at 41yrs. 31" waist and 40" shoulders. Birds eye view lookin' down at the lil bald headed dudes.

Saw many whales during 20 year reunion. I don't know why but ugly girls turned into much better women. They were fit and pretty.

Never went, don't care.

For the 10 year I got the invitation, and it was $120 a person and a cash bar. The fuck outta here with that.

Linked up with a bunch of HS people on bookface 10ish years ago, quickly realized I didn't really like them in HS and nothing has changed. FB is just a big "look at me, look at my kids, look at how great my life is" when reality is usually much different.

I'd much rather have a reunion with a bunch of guys I knew in the USMC.

I didn't like those assholes when I was in school... Why would I want to spend an evening with them 10 years later?

Plus they wanted $100 to attend so they could rent a place and buy food.

Fuck that! Now I gotta pay to see those cunts?

Well apparently I wasn't the only one with that sentiment...

They didn't swindle... errr I mean raise enough money to get the place they wanted because no one forked over a single cent... So they cancelled it.

The 20 year is just a few years away...

They can jump off a cliff for all I give a fuck.

I'm doing very well, but I never care to see any of them again. That is the beauty of doing well, you don't have to.

I'm still in touch with a lot of the guys and gals from high school, we all found each other, so theres no need for a reunion in my case.

Remember finding out the H/S jock and big football star was broken and running a golf course. Looked like shit too.

I went once....just to see how everyone changed.....the jocks that became pudgy office workers and the nerd (me) that ended up a combat vet and worked private security.....

The hot chicks that got sloppy fat and the tomboys that bloomed late into hotness....it was fun and kinda sad....
