A bear getting ready for hibernation not only is hungry and fast but has claws that they sharpen and can peel a skin off a fish. Some people,.likely urbanites have lost the plot. Animals in the wild can be cute and occasionally as babies will be tamer, but only a FOOL would do this with a bear. Imagine doing that with Kodiak or a Polar bear. A male Kodiak bear when it raises up, can be ten feet tall and is a fearsome creature.

BS...I have a resident bear that pokes its nose into my cabin now and then seemingly checks on me. I just tell it to fuck off and it goes away. It's a 3 year old male though. No babies. If a mama and cubs come through we scare them off.



BC is bigger then WA, OR, CA and half of Idaho put together though so...we have a different way of dealing with wildlife.

An indigenous young teen on the cusp of being a brave in some tribes where bear (black, brown, Kodiaks, polar) existed, he would try "counting coup". He would sneak up on a hibernating bear and touch him and try to take a token to prove he had been there.

Other indigenous would try to stalk a deer and get close enough to touch it. Counting coup will a big deal demonstrating enormous stalking ability as he could have killed the critter, but choose not to.

Do you just make shit up in your mind as you go and call it reality? Black bears are incredibly timid compared to brown bears and especially grizzlies. Grizzlies are responsible for twice as many deaths even though there are far less of them compared to black bears.

I have come across black bears constantly in hikes. They tend to be curious and some even come up to you for food (because they have been fed by humans before). If you charge at one screaming they usually run away from you (unless cornered). Black bears have the personality of raccoons. They can be dangerous, but usually tend to just get into your trash bins or come up to get food from you.

The black bear in this video probably just wanted food from her because someone fed it before. So it came up to her and tapped her for food. Notice that after it did that it started to turn away to run because it thought that she might attack.

Stop making crap up and feeding people it. And go actually educate yourself.

I have a huge old tree about 75 feet from my back door that one lives in and another lives in an old gold mine towards the back of my property. We see them a lot in my neighborhood, but they tend to avoid my place because of my yappy dog.

Bart the Bear was in the Legends of the Fall movie. His trainer is a big guy. Quite a remarkable creature in terms of physical size and strength when reared up.

Wildlife is largely unpredictable in their interactions with humans, despite what anyone says. Animals have individual personalities, anyone with a pet will know this.

But, wild animals who have had limited to no human contact should be handled with extreme caution. This bear could very easily have opened her up without even trying.

tell it to those eaten by black bears maybe they'll spring to life again?
