User ID: 75095934 United States 11/21/2020 10:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This was set up long ago, after WWII... There were power hungry asshole behind it for sure but at the time there were a lot of patriotic good guys too... After WWII it was seen that we faced a global enemy, an enemy controlled by a single party who's quest for global domination could be planned not just in years but in decades... It was believed and maybe even rightly so at the time that the US and the West could not compete with this enemy when our foreign policy could potentially change every 4-8 years... So these people thinking they were patriots began building the power of the military industrial complex, a merger of government and private businesses injecting money into both political parties, supporting only those candidates who would allow to be steered by this group, creating think tanks that would set foreign policy no matter who was politically at the helm... At the time it may have been the right thing to do but it was corrupted and now serves no purpose but to advance it's own power and has been taken over by technocrats Billy82269 |

Quoting: money$$$ Wasn't "Mockingbird" used in the "Hunger Games" movie series? Regardless, that film depicted a cruel, hard, miserable, chaotic dystopia dominated by sociopaths. The screenwriter likely had in mind such a society being run by conservatives or rightwingers. Bzzzt. In reality, such a place is way closer to the characteristics of a world dominated by the left. By Comey-loving, Brennan-loving, Obama-Hillary-Biden-loving sociopaths and psychopaths. |

Might be a little more complex than that. And to think that if nobody is armed, there will be no conflicts strikes me as naive. I was talking about it as a Catch-22 when it came to manufacturing and production, specifically. This President has been the least war-ey in my memory, and the most pro-domestic production in my memory. There's some irony there, but it might not run as deep as you think. Deterrence is only one facet of the complexity. That said, none of my portfolio includes companies (that I can discern, at least) that profit from war. Directly, I mean. I hope. Hard to tell, but I've tried. I realize that saying "things are complex" might be seen as a cop-out. But most things are. And most problems aren't solved with a simple yes/no. JFK's plan to end wars was to go to the moon with the Russians. A good start and plan. With the two superpowers working together on such a large and costly mission they could have done other things together to role-model a safe and peaceful planet and perhaps this existence today would be different.. Sadly we are left to ponder what could have been on the 57th anniversary of his murder tomorrow. Serpentine Green |

User ID: 76620885 United States 11/21/2020 10:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This topic won't get much attention from the Republicans, here Trump is basically admitting the defeat and capitulating, saying that he doesn't run the show but some other darker forces are, which 90% of GLP already knows, USA hasn't got an independent president since JFK. Doesn't matter who's the POTUS, he's just puppet of the deep state. Quoting: money$$$ WILLIAM CASSEY, CIA director 1981 "WE'LL KNOW OUR DISINFORMATION PROGRAM IS COMPLETE WHEN EVERYTHING THE AMERICAN PUBLIC BELIEVES IS FALSE" "Operation Mockingbird" was a fully implemented CIA program to spread disinformation throghout American media. CIA Director William Colby testifed to the Church Commitee that over 400 CIA agents were active in the US media to control what was reported through American mainstream television, newspapers, and magazines. President Ford fired Colby after his testimony, replacing him with George H.W. Bush. Bush Sr. ended the CIA's testimony, stating that there were no other programs of concern to disclose and promising that the CIA would no longer influence the media. :wolf_footer_msg: |

Does the the government have any control of it? Do they get any funding from the US government? Can Trump abolish it? Ever observe the dynamics in a family or group of friends where one person has a certain opinion or preference while everyone else has a different one? Think of DC as a family gathering where most of the siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws are of the leftwing. |

Trump's actions analyzed and motivation theorized does not equal Trump confirming anything. It's a guess, maybe a good one-maybe not. Hardly confirmation. "Y’know they’re schemers.
