She weighed 2lbs and now she's a big a-hole, but I guess it was touch and go at the time. She suffered no ill effects into adulthood. They said she cried a lot because she grew so fast but who knows. This was in '67 |

I recall his voice and being able to comprehend what he was saying. This has always been my first memory. It ain't made up. Don't try and tell me it's not possible, I know it's possible I have the memories and plenty of memories of age 1-2 yes old. Plenty of fully confirmed memories. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79685795 Everything that happens before you learn to speak does not exist for you. This is completely untrue. All memories exist, just separate from your conscious memory wiring as an adult. A lot of the personality is formed before a person is born and during the first year of life. |

Person I know was in an incubator first 3 months of his life. Quoting: MoonSlice I was a small preemie, 3 pounds and 12 inches long. They had me in an incubator for months too. No emotional effects, but I have had lifelong respiratory problems because my lungs were not developed enough. I am small too, 4"11" and 91 pounds, but people in my family are smaller than the usual. All of my kids were small at birth, but full term, 5 and 6 pounders. The small birth size runs in my family too. It hasn't stopped me from doing anything. I will be 67 on December 9th.With all the medical advances, they can save extreme preemies nowadays, a lot smaller than me when I was born. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

For this you need the ability to speak. Your brain is able to bond with your mother by the smell of her from birth, but you don´t know how your mother looked like when she first hugged you. |

I don´t know exactly what you mean, but things that you can´t describe with words like the smell of your mother are stored in a way that does not use memory or the area in the brain that is responsible for memories. A traumatic event would be your birth, probably the most traumatic event for any human, maybe that´s the reason why we start with memories later on, so we don´t remember and get crazy about it. |

So, I came out three months early kicking and screaming! Spent a month in an incubator, made up for small size and faired well on the growth charts, as most preemies do. My lasting issue? I hate to be hot! And I hate lights on at night! I've always been in a hurry and afraid I'll miss something! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79393931 That’s really cool! I believe you! I remember my first dream (nightmare) at around one years old. There was this giant “mother alien” (looked like the giant one in the Alien resurrection movie but huge and fat) idk if it’s because my dad loves that movie and I was born in 93 but that always stuck with me. I also remember the layout of my first house that my parents had before they divorced when I was 2, my mom was shocked when I drew it up and was spot on. I don’t think a lot of people remember this far back from what I’ve asked of other people but it’s really cool to see that others do remember.
