Well... There were 5 up a little bit ago. My interest was caught by the one being escorted.

Looks like it's about to refuel on the Atlantic coast. (KC135 is gaining ground on a direct intercept line.)

Look for yourself.

SPUR72 will most likely refuel Cake 11 & 13.

There were five empty loaded planes for training and refueling purposes only.

Cake11 just went dark.... Still tracking the escort, Cake 13 and watching the two refuelers inbound (Joined by SPUR81)

I sincerely appreciate all this military talk and refueling, etc. However, I have no military experience and really don't know what all of this means, esp. when you talk in military jargon.

Are these bombers on a training mission or are they really going somewhere important?

There were as many a SIX B-52 bombers up earlier... My attention was caught by one of them (Call sign Cake11) because it had an undescribed close cover escort. (Callsign Cake 13)

It's currently being refueled over Nova Scotia and looks to be headed East.

As the one AC pointed out, these don't fly out very often and generally when they do, they are not loaded with weapons and flown around the US for training missions.

This one is abnormal. It appears to have an armed escort and it's being refueled prior to crossing the Atlantic.

CFC3174 Airbus Canada Military just took off from Halifax a bit in front of them.

CAKE11 still getting refueled.

We'll loose them once they depart over the ocean.... I'll watch for them in Europe again overnight.

Another BUFF refueled just north of Wichita Falls.

Never seen them refueling over continental US.
