WTF IS GOING ON? Bing says Gina Haspel died and names her succesor

Those results are pulled from the topmost relevant website which in this case is "deaddeath.com" and it obviously shouldn't be. The results are pulled by an algorithm that looks for most relevant results so you adding the word dead caused the algorithm to pull from the first site claiming to have an obituary for Gina Haspel. That site is some sort of fake news site that presents an "article" as though it's an obituary and as a result tricks the algorithm into putting the date of death at the top of the search page alongside information about the individual who's cited in the "obituary".

Or to put it more simply, it's bullshit someone orchestrated on purpose to bait people into spreading fake news.

It's pulling up links from Snopes to which I don't trust any way because it's a saurus back shithole but it's just pulling up a bunch of different links I don't think it's real though that news would have been leaked

The fake news site is the third result but it's the only result that contains the word "obituary" and that's why it was grabbed as most relevant to the word "dead". The reason the search page notes "data from Wikipedia" is because the information about Haspel, her bio and so on came from Wikipedia. Not the claim of her death.

It is interesting that the algorithm ignored the fact checking websites but it seems the makers of the fake news site "deaddeath.com" new it would. They obviously knew using the word "obituary" would cause their claim of her death to appear at the top of the search page. While I realize the msm publishes plenty of fake news themselves, this is a shining example of really really fake news and a great example of an exploit in Bing's search engine.

The last edits there were on the first of December, it looks like someone was trying to vandalize the page and gave up because it was being monitored. They went a different route which obviously had a similar effect or we wouldn't be talking about it.

You should just be searching her name, and if she has died, the results would show that.
But by adding the word dead you pull up all the sites that say she died.
Anyone could create a webpage that says she is dead and Google would it show it as a result if that is what you use as a search.
