I think it's a lot of things really.

For one we are living in a time where seniors are sucking up large amounts of resources, crippling the youth. This is a fact. Most 1st world nations cannot continue like this. Perhaps this was a kind of "solution"? I don't really know.

Secondly older people tend to resist regime changes, they are dragging society down in general so I think they thought up a way to get rid of them and take no blame.

Seniors eat up more than HALF of the US federal budget. Next time a beumer tells you how much socialists are destroying the US you have my permission to spit in their face.

And there's no simple way to fix this issue. No one who suggests fixing this problem will EVER GET ELECTED. So the only solution is to somehow modify the demographics so that this political issue is removed.

The simple fact is we are destroying the planet. This is not a myth, it's a fact. If Beumer Culture continues for another 50 years, the planet will be largely unlivable. It's something they can't accept because it puts culpability onto them and labels their lifestyle destructive.
