CDC finally admits that the masks do nothing to stop covid.

Since after one year there is still an N95 mask shortage my RN working family members wear two masks to extend the life of their N95.

The N95 Electrostatic Core which is "the" feature that makes it successful 95% of the time is prone to failure when moisture contaminated.

Either from your exhaled breath or droplet contamination on the outside.

Their procedure which has been in place a long time is to cover their N95 with a single surgery mask they dispose of when moving from patient to patient.

Does it work? Dont know...

I bet most everyone here at one time or another asked/told a person/coworker nearby who was not covering their mouth when they coughed or sneezed repeatedly to do so.

I work with a guy who honestly regards scientists as some kind of pure sainted priesthood.

I think it's transference - people naturally have instinctive religious feelings and it's easy to get them to diefy false gods.

I saw 2 different families yesterday walking outdoors with masks on their very young toddlers, and older children 5 or 6 years old.

Honestly it's only going to get worse.

There's a reason I don't want to go out at all unless I have to, and it's nothing to do with the supposed virus.

The studies done on Surgeons wearing masks versus not wearing during surgery found no effect on bacterial infections. But people think they work and get into a habit.

I read the entire CDC study. The hard and fast takeaway is the masks were tits on a boar hog useless. For fuck's sake. We destroyed an economy for a 2% reduction rate of infection. That's beyond pointless.

The CDC is funded by government appropriations.

So anything they say will be partial truth, with enough homage paid to the popular opinion or propaganda of the day to maintain their funding.

Everyone likes money it seems.

I looked at the study and it clearly shows the death rate increasing for on-premise dining compared to the drop in deaths for mask mandate states.
That is the opposite of "masks not working"

They link to the CDC study. How much more of a "real source" do you need? Do you only believe NY Times anonymous sources with no links to data? Also, how many people do you see performing surgery out in public?

Did you read the CDC link or did you just vomit back what OANN spit out. The CDC study says masks help slow the spread and reduced infection rates. It doesn't say anywhere in the entire study anything about masks doing nothing to stop covid. In fact, it says the complete opposite.

At least read the study before you post crap.

That seems sensible in theory, the problem is it's not true in practice. This has been studied and studied, in clinical and general public settings, before and during covid. The best designed studies show there is no statistically significant difference in rates of infection between mask wearing and not.

The one "advantage" of Ebola is that it presents severe symptoms fairly quick, and kills the host fairly quick as well.

Any epidemic or pandemic of Ebola burns itself out before it really starts.

All you have to do is compare states with lockdown and mask mandates with those who do not. There is very little difference and in some cases the hard core mask and lockdowns states had more deaths and hospitalizations.

When the mask rhetoric started ramping up this past spring, my husband was incredulous. He's in an occupation that deals with silica dust, which is .05 microns. Covid is about .1 microns. He needs specialized PPE. fit tested. Poor dh had to shave his handsome beard for that fit test.

Our neighbour, a firefighter, also has PPE and he too was incredulous about any so-called benefits for wearing masks.

Masks stop the droplets, maybe. But does that translate into reduced hospital admissions and death rates in the general public? I very much doubt it. Theoretically, someone should then choose to wear a mask on their own and it would provide some protection on the receiving end. Not everyone should be forced to wear for others, because there are other negative factors associated with mask wearing that must be factored in to the equation.


I bet weight loss programs, supports and initiatives would result in fewer hospital admissions and deaths. Where is huge public push for that? There is little to nil.
