The interesting part is the prosecution seems to be aware of what the testimony would be which should mean they're risking malicious prosecution charges at some point in the future.

So the guy that caused the Overdose death of George Floyd doesn't have to testify because it might incriminate him of 3rd Degree Murder.

You can't make this shit up.

The prosecution has not and will not grant him immunity. His testimony will only help the defense greatly.

This guy is going down and they know it and are trying to protect him not from future prosecution, using the 5th as a shield. Their (the prosecutions) intent, is to not shift the blame of the death to the drug dealer that sold him the drugs that most probably killed him, and keep the focus on the "deadly white, racist, murderous cop."

Unfortunately, they do have standing to deny testimony based on their motions.

But later litigation that will most definitely come up and will be brought to Justice in civil and criminal cases to come, after the dust of this circus has settled.

The guy is screwed either way, why not just do the right thing and spill the truth.

Yes its scripted. Not only that but if you are summoned to Jury duty, they send you a survey to fill out and send back. So they can determine which way you would vote in a Jury.

Yep...and think about it. The State has even argued the guy should not appear before the jury to invoke his 5th.

By doing so they are actually supporting the DENIAL of possible exculpatory evidence this man could provide!

You know IF they thought this guy had evidence against Chauven the State would be offering him full imunity!

Pretty damn astounding when you think about it....
