A lot of mexicans went back to mexico since there is food there and the us is a bunch of gun toting farmers without cash so not much reason for mexicans to come to the US now. I have to stress this. The elites used to run everything. When the shit hit the fan, the elites hit the road and since they were running everything, everything just kind of stopped running. Since it is limited, people don't use it up for fear of running out and since there are bicycles, people use those because they cost no money and they don't run out of gas.

It's complicated. You see cars run, but just not as much as in the old days. It's like when they locked down with curfew sort of with regard to vehicles...they aren't on the highways at all...but in the cities, there are kids running around trashing the place for no reason.

When that many people are dying that quickly, people lose their minds like as if they were in a war without having gone through even basic training. They just lose their minds. It's like everyone is either crazy or grieving. Now, add to that hungry and scared.

There is a lot of effort to sort of deal with the grieving. People spend a lot of time trying to deal with their grief different ways...some people distract themselves and play games, other people are looking around for mediums to talk to their loved ones. A lot of that going on...mediums are a huge hit in the future. If you are a medium, you have a line going around the frickin' block and then some.

When government paychecks stopped rolling out, nothing functioned. People don't show up to work to enforce bogus laws they know are lies and you aren't even paying their paychecks anymore.

Trucks stopped delivering gas. Society stops when that happens. It was like curfew and riots except people curfewed themselves; nobody told them to; they didn't want to be out there with riots going on unless theywere part of the riots.

One of our objectives was to take out the elites. Another was to liberate our immediate neighbors for the security of our own nation.

We sent one group south; they basically sent themselves and they all spoke spanish and wanted to liberate mexico from the gangs and the gang run government in mexico.

Some formed up to bring arms to Canada to help them liberate themselves.

Most of us went hunting for the elite and we sent another group out to try to figure out how to get gas moving again. The idea when finding the elites is not just to hunt them down, but to make them tell us how they run everything so we can get society started back up somehow. There is a lot we don't know that we need to know to make that happen.

Personally, I think it is better to not have shit go haywire in the first place, so I came back in time to try to stop it from going bad in the first place, but if it doesn't work, I am to meet back up with my other self where I originally got nominated and bring my intel with me and some food already planted.

If I went back more than one year, nobody would know what the fuck I was talking about. I would be laughed off stage, so to speak. Anyway, if I went back in time further, I risked getting sick and if that happened, I can't complete my mission. I didn't decide how far back to go. There was a vote and it was decided this was the best idea of 3 ideas the group had. The idea was that if this didn't work, I merely had to wait a year and we could try another option next time and send us both back in different time increments.

The only caveat is that the time dilation device is kind of new so as a result, if I were to go back too far, I would be in an underground pile of dirt or anything else and that wouldn't make for an easy ascent to the surface.

Also, they are tipped off now since I took off. If they figure out what happened, they would be ready for another me in the future, so any future versions have to be sent back a little before me incrementally. This could create a paradox since if we send me to an earlier period next time, then they would be watching for me in the future (now my past) and the current me wouldn't have escaped so easily. It's complicated. This was a factor in our vote.

Our other ideas were to send me into the future to gain intel and send it back to save on effort where we were.

Also, we floated the idea of me going back to before covid and telling everyone everything that was going to happen before it happened. That was going to be the plan until somebody realized that I could catch the flu and not even complete the mission if I showed up before the outbreak. This date was settled on because it is right before the big vaccination and right after the smaller vaccination so it will be believable when I tell you but not totally unavoidable; also, people won't wake up at all unless some people are vaccinated and if nobody wakes up, we're as good as dead that way too.

My younger self had a different reaction than you might think.

I was born with an identical twin. I was the youngest by 5 minutes.

She got sick and died as a result of the recent events, leaving me without a sibling. We were very close. I took care of her when she was sick. I got sick as well right before she did. She nursed me back to health and then she got sick right after I did. I tried to nurse her back to health but she didn't make it.

When I contacted my older self, I told her to meet me and I would explain everything once we met.

It wasn't as weird as you might think because we were both used to talking to an identical twin and we actually look exactly alike, except I am a year older than she is now, so we look a little bit different by virtue of the fact that we are separated in time by a year.

We have a kind of psychic connection just like we did with our twin, so it's unusually natural. For those of you who have or have had a twin, you may understand.

It's good, in a sense, to have a twin again. I felt a part of me was missing after she died and it is a lot like having her back again even though I know it is really me a year ago; it's less lonely. That's one of the reasons I wanted to go back. I guess you could say I missed my twin and know I couldn't save her but this is kind of like having a twin again.
