XRP-tards, get in here. (Crash imminent? Final XRP moon in august 2021) | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79786622 Iceland 06/12/2021 07:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, we have to get to 25k first. I'm starting to think 25k happens around 6/18-6/20. There will be a bounce at 25k due to it being the pennant target and this bounce up to 30/31k will take a few days itself. From there, it could be a week to get to 20k. It could be 2 weeks. Not really sure. This really has been dragging along a lottttttt slower than I thought it would take. |

It's funny how you work. I see you. I could add more to my stash, but it's labor intensive with the SEC restrictions, and yet for a year peak at 2022 and then it flattens? I really am not good at playing short gains. |

Quoting: nemo_solus I've been out, not quite at the top, but a bit before and just been scalping BTC with bots (I only do longs, no leverage) on short time frames. I like trading with bots as they remove the emotion from the trade - you set the buy, set the take profit and stop and then let it do it's thing. Keeps you from second guessing yourself and over time leads to more consistent trading results (for better or worse). It's not for everyone, but it's what works for me. @Nemo_Solus - I am interested in bots. Which do you use and with which exchange? Hello Mr. Z! I'm US based, so a lot of the more interesting exchanges are closed to me. Yes, there are ways to work around this, but I'm basically a boring financially conservative (as much as one can be just being in Crypto!) person. I don't short, use leverage or anything like that, I look to stay with KYC compliant centralized exchanges, take extra diligence to report and pay all my taxes and such. So, I primarily trade on Coinbase Pro but also trade on Kraken, Binance.US and Kucoin. Of these, I don't like Binance.US all that much due to them not having good liquidity, but sometimes they are the only ones with the trading pairs I'm looking for. Not sure what you are looking to achieve or what your experience may be using bots, but to me, I see bot use as falling into two different use cases. First, you are looking for algorithmic entry and exit from trades that more or less run continuously autonomously. The second use of bots is to aid and semi-automate your human driven trades. I've looked at and evaluated quite a few before I found one that I liked. There are both those that are locally run on a PC as well as those run in the cloud or as a web based service. Most offer some sort of free trial and allow paper trading, so you don't have to risk giving your API keys out until you are comfortable with them. I'll mention that for me, I'd *NEVER* trust any bot to use an API key configured to have permission to transfer/make withdrawals and would completely reject any bot that required it. So, double check that permission is turned off when you make a decision to go live. All that being said, I settled into 3Commas.io as the best solution for what I needed from bots. I've tried using the automatic trading bots they offer (the "first" type in my case list above) but didn't like them that much as they didn't enable me to meet my daily trading goals. Probably, I'd have to spend a lot more time trying to understand how best to deploy them under the different market conditions as are prevailing. The other bot they offer is their "SmartTrade" feature and is the one I use primarily. These fall into the "second" type in my list above. You enter the entry and exit conditions you like (or just entry or just exit) and the bots stay vigilant to execute the orders as instructed. This helps a lot as you don't have to be parked in front of the screen all the time and helps take emotions and second guessing out of the trade. They let you do different kinds of entry, exit and conditional orders that generally you can't do on-exchange, such as trailing buys or trailing stops/take profits, they also have some stop-loss timeout features that sometimes help keep from getting hit by the sudden spikes that take out stops. Another, I think underappreciated feature is that you will now have a single consistent user interface across multiple platforms, so no needing to remember the nuances of each exchange and needing to do multiple logins either - everything is now in one place for trading and tracking your positions. But perhaps the best feature of all is the ability to track the current profit/loss status of your trades as well as the trade history so you can track how your strategy has been playing out over time. I'll also mention one other thing to consider. Since you are trading via API to your exchange, you need to evaluate how reliable this vital link is. With 3Commas, usually I've seen the Coinbase API links stay up and trading when the exchanges usual web interface crashes under load, but this may not be the case on all exchanges and with all services. I've also had the occasional glitch and odd bug show up sometimes too, so do bear that in mind as a potential risk. Hopefully this helps answer your question, and apologies if this was a bit too verbose. Good luck! Last Edited by nemo_solus on 06/12/2021 12:53 PM |
