Stray/feral cat bit me
Well. Shit. Roommates trapped this cat that has been hanging around our place for months. Guy with the gloves was trying to get it from the trap and into a cat carrier. Of course the cat was not going to go straight in and started escaping from the side. Out of instinct i grabbed the cat and got a small bite and scratch on the hand. Fairly superficial and not deep. Now im debating on wether or not to get a rabies shot. Scary cobsidering the covid vaccine madness right now...

The trap was set again last night, but the cat is not in there this morning. Probably wisened up to it.

Should have just fed and be nice to cat. Put food out don’t try to trap it. If the cat is alive in 10 days you don’t have rabies.

Must be nice to live in a city where the cats and dogs are trapped and killed out of sight. Then you can live without regard to how fast feral cats breed and how much disease they spread when left unchecked.

Initial reason for trapping cat i dunno. Roomies idea. We have pet cats. Now i want to trap it to watch it for 10 days to see if it develops rabies.

If the cat isn’t fed and treated nice for 10 days. Never know if infected with rabies or not. The cat won’t go back in the trap.

I am thinking i will be fine. This cat has been around for a while and is clearly surviving just fine. Didnt seem rabid, just scared. Ive grown up with cats and been scratched plenty. The small prick where she bit me is not feeling infected. I will continue to keep an eye out for her. If I get rabies ill post here before putting a bullet in my head.

It's happened to me many times, never had a problem.

Increase your chances of survival through good karma by feeding kitty, and telling him/her they're a pretty kitty. And a good kitty.

And that kitty is loved and adored, as they all should be.

Why would anyone feed a feral cat? They are aproblem and kill protected wildlife anyway. They yshould be hunted by professional hunters to pretect the wildlife.

Warning: Cat saliva contains a bacteria which can cause a nasty infection and necrotising fasciitis.

You need to get antibiotics. See a doctor ASAP and if the area of the bite starts to turn black or becomes discolored you need to go to an emergency room. I had a cat that bit me and I had to get intravenous antibiotics as well as a prescription for a 7 to 10 day course of antibiotics.

The odds are extraordinarily low that the cat has rabies. If the affected area is still bugging you in the morning go get it checked out. I still wouldn't think its rabies. An infection could be possible though just cause it's a stray cat that is dirty.

Your roommate are good people though. I help out the strays that come around my place. You gotta slowly earn their trust not just straight up grab them. Leave some food out and the cat will return.

Nahh it does not hurt. Im in my 30s and very healthy and in shape. Never get sick. My immune system is very robust. I am a firm believer in constant germ exposure = a robust and healthy body. I get nicks and cuts constantly from work and life.

They say the secrets to our world is hidden under the left paw of the sphinx.

I had a >20yr old Balinese cat i rescued from the wild that had heartworm and aids. The aids helped the heart worm to the point she had a permanently open sore on her left leg.

Reminded me of the trepanation practice.

b
but anyway....

They say the secrets to life are found under the left paw of the sphinx.

My favourite pet cat meow meow was a feral stray.

She was Balinese and had aids and heartworm. We couldn't treat the heart worm as it would have killed her by flooding her lungs with decaying waste.

The aids apparently help the heart worm developed a sore/hole on her left leg that was bald in a diameter of 1cm or so around it. The patch never grew hair and the hole never healed.

Do you know why a cat purrs and what it invokes?

Do you know the origin of adrenochrome?

The cats purr is a multi frequency of around 25-100hz. It encourages healing, increases bone density and helps the cat travel interdimensionally.

a friend lost her finger because she didn't go to doctor after she tried to feed a feral cat and got bit.

if it puffs up or starts hurting more get checked, but it looks minor to me.
