You’ve gotta wean off of it. Do not stop abruptly. Have the doctor lower your dose. If the tablets are scored cut them in half.

Taper the dose down slowly over several weeks or even many months, if you need to go that slow.

Most doctors don’t know shit all about the drugs they prescribe. Many will try to taper you off SSRI’s over a few weeks at most, which is way too fast for many people. Then when the withdrawal hits you, they will say it’s your mental illness returning. That’s bullshit, it takes months for the brain to heal from long term SSRI use alone, and you can’t gauge how mentally ill you are while you’re withdrawing.

If you’re on a shirt acting SSRI, switching to Prozac and tapering that may help.

Sadly most doctors are just reps for pharmaceutical companies. The only way they can make money is pushing drugs.

Don't know how old you are, but back in the day doctors use to actually treat illness, not mask symptoms with pills.

Years ago corporations realized that by contaminating peoples bodies with garbage and heavy metals through medications, food, air and water they could keep their subjects sick both physically and mentally.

The end result is higher profits and population control. The number one cause of death worldwide is lack of knowledge.Stop blindly trusting doctors, family, friends and the television.

Educate yourself

Continue getting your prescription, depending on your medication you can ween yourself off. Took me a while (years) but it was a long rough period, not ssri's but benzodiazepines.

Just cut down your pill /dose by .25, or a third of the pill use that for a week or two youll get some withdrawal symtpms but eventually evens out, then cut that dose by another .25, etc do that for amother week...you get the idea till you reach no pills, the last jump, from small dose to nothing is the biggest, because psychologically you feel dependent on them, the anxiety of the withdrawals etc...

Just adjust how of much of the dose you cut everytime you jump to a lower dose...if the withdrawals arent bad you can either drop another .10 of the pill or just stay on the new dose for a week or so...then cut, etc

Depending how long you been taking them, you might need more then 2 weeks everytime you drop the mgs...

Don't cold turkey until you reach like .05-10 % of the original dose

Ashwaganda will help you tremendously.

The easiest route would be to eat only meat, fruit, veggies for a few days to a week while you halve your dose and take half in the morning and a quarter at night, take the ashwaganda daily in the morning. Assess how you're doing and move to only a half in the morning when you don't feel poorly on the reduced amount. Begin a juice only fast after a few days on clean eating, it is easier to do when you've already cut out refined foods that cause hunger. It's not really a fast, but a feast. It will clean out your body of the toxic medicine you've been taking, and provide nutritional sustenance to repair while also no longer needing to use 80% of your energy for digestion. Plants have the ability to bind the bad and take it out of your body, which you need right now. Once you feel ok with the 50%, move to only a quarter in the morning, and one at night. Then to a quarter in the morning. Then if you need, an eighth in the morning and at night.

I recommend a good vitamin D3 supplement with the k2, and real bone broth with your juice fast. Your brain needs fat. Vitamin D is an anti-inflammatory and most are very short on it.

Juice fast at least a week longer than you feel better off the meds. Walk every day outside, even if it means getting wet or using an umbrella. Best if you can go into the woods where everything is green and you can be reminded to breathe deep. If you can get yourself to sweat profusely daily, it will help too. We're talking about lymphatic drainage and cleaning, as well as using the largest organ your body has for detoxing: the skin. No antiperspirant, and if you're using one with aluminum time to get something more natural.

In addition to this, I will suggest prayer. Jesus Christ can help you with the problem you face. I used to be on Citalopram for anxiety. It was so bad I would not be able to do anything. I started the ashwaganda, d, magnesium and b complex (you won't need because your food will be your medicine), and it made a huge difference in my life(three years without pharmaceutical medicine), but I still couldn't function without the supplements. We are looking down the pipe at a point where supplements won't be so available, and I knew I needed to be able to function without it. I prayed to be healed, and I have not needed any daily supplement since. It has been almost a year. I am also able to now do better with my activity levels, enjoyment of things, taking better care of myself and others, because my energy isn't sapped by the anxiety.

Like others have said, you have to ween yourself off of them. If you try to just quit taking them, it can really mess you up for a long while.

I've never had much of an issue quitting addictive medications/substance. I just start cutting back the dose and increasing the time between doses. And while doing that I usually end up quitting because I end up forgetting the next dose. How long that takes depends on what i've been taking. Can be anywhere from 3 or 5 days to a couple weeks. A few things though you just have to do cold turkey, like stopping smoking. And with some medications you can quit cold turkey, and you will feel like crap, but it will only last a few days while your body recovers/rebounds. Do that over a weekend.

Slowly...like, really slowly. What dose are you on? Reduce that dose by 10% and take the new dose for 3 weeks, then another 10%...repeat. if you go off too quickly you will have brain shocks and other neuro issues.

SSRIs are bad MOJO.

Try taking a folic acid supplement. Folic acid is metabolized into the precursors of your neuro transmitters like serotonin, dopamine and norepinepherine. If normal folic acid doesn't help your issues you might have a faulty MTHFR gene so you can't properly metabolize folic acid and you don't have enough of these neurotransmitters. try L-methly folate as this is the metabolite of folic acid and should help.

It's recommended to taper slowly off SSRIs, for fewer side effects, and less disruption to your system.

A '10% taper' means reducing your current dose by 10% per month .. and this is not something that can easily be done by splitting a pill, because it is very tiny amounts. So the doctor will need to adjust your prescription month by month as you taper down.

The correct way to do a 10% taper is to taper 10% off the last dose you took. For example, say you were on a dose of 40 mg per day. 10% of 40 is 4 mg. So for the first month you’d take 40 – 4 = 36 mg/day. Then for the second month, you’d reduce this by 10% of the 36 mg. So the second month you’d take 36 – 3.6 mg = 32.4 mg/day. For the third month you’d reduce this by 10% and thus take 32.4 – 3.24 mg = 29.16 mg/day and so on.

Do you see how this will take you quite a bit of time? Not months, this will take you a few years to gradually cut down, bit by bit. Every month you will be taking less and less of this med, and eventually you will be free from it entirely.

But this is why people who 'suddenly' go off SSRIs can go full blown panic mode and throw their systems out of whack too. After having been on for so long, you really are going to NEED to allow your body the time to adjust SLOWLY to it's leaving your system.

Also some peaches are incredibly tart and actually give the complete opposite effect of sweet.
The same goes for marijuana. It's a very complex list of chemicals. You can't just label it an SSRI.
