I've had to harvest some cilantro already or it'll go to seed...some cherry tomatoes already past the yellow flower stage & tiny tomatoes are already formed.

Thanks for the video OHM. I always enjoy seeing other people's gardens.

I'm gathering seed from my onions this year too, I overwintered some Italian cipolliani and they are flowering now.

I am in southern Ohio where I get to plant broccoli very early, I harvested them on June 4th, got 13 pints from 16 plants. They are producing lots of side shoots now. And it's about time to start the seeds for the fall broccoli.

About the garlic growing in pure peat, it may be too acidic.

Loved your roadside clover bed.

So cool!

It's amazing how one can grow so much stuff in a place you think is small.

It’s true!

Part of the reason I don’t convert my lawn to garden is I’m already quite busy with what I’ve got.

Converting that old concrete pad in the backyard using cedar boxes enlarged my growing space a lot already!

I know. Gardening is a full time job.

We had put up bluebird houses and the wrens and chickadees used them. It was fun to watch the birds go in the garden and find little worms to take to their babies.
That was some good pest management them little birds.

13 pints of broccoli that’s great!
Did you freeze them?
I can’t eat mine fast enough right now.
Side shoots.. how do those work, just keep the plant in the ground after harvesting the crown?
Also wondering about broccoli seeds, should I just let one of the crowns go to full maturity for that?
Almost wondering if I can pull off a second round of the broccoli this year.
It’s great to grow since it’s pretty easy, yet so expensive at the grocery store to buy.

Great tip about the peat being too acidic, thx for that.

Glad you liked the roadside clover bed.
It covers my flank from being reseeded by dandelions, retains moisture, enriches the soil, and passerby people like to hunt for four leaf clovers there.. happy to bring them good luck!

Which parts of the plant do you use for making tea?
The flowers maybe..

I used to like chewing them too. The little white ones as well.

I remember sprouting clover seeds in the house to eat too. That's how I had gotten clover in the garden - lots of things grew from the compost like with you.

Lol. I was surprised when potatoes grew from peelings. Evidently there were eyes in the peels.

And the cardinals liked to eat seeds out of the compost. Sometimes it was popcorn kernels that didn't pop.

Nice work on growing your garden. woot! I just put up a fence for a 100'x100' garden. Sweet potatoes are first on the grow list.

I spray my grapefruit tree with dish soap and water to keep the bugs from eating the leaves. Don't know if it would work on a apple tree?

Best wishes!

that is an interesting idea.. dish soap and water.
does it negatively affect the tree or leaves in any way?

letting "nature take her course" this year resulted in a lot of pest destruction, sadly.. probably too late to do anything about it this season, but next year for sure i gotta do something different.

gratz on your 100'x100' garden fence, that is no small feat!

Well I spray about every three weeks to a month. If I see the leaves starting get eaten on by the bugs.

The tree looks healthy. It's only a year old. (Soap/water) in a sprayer is an alternative to toxic sprays.
I am still learing on different ways that make small scale farming easier and non toxic.

I'm on the phone at night. I'll have to watch the vid on the computer during the day.

The best beans I ever had were heirloom Cherokee Trail of Tears. The are good fresh or dried, have light purple flowers, are very prolific and the pods are purple but turn green when you cook them.

I don't garden anymore or I would mail you some seeds.
