I hate to be the one to tell people what they can and can't talk about.

Yeah there's a LOT of ignorance and mainstream stuff that influences people's understanding. I still get very little reaction when speaking of the fact that Odin was not the original head of the pantheon, it was always Tyr (like most religions, the sky father). It appears that culturally a time was reached where truth, honour and even handed justice was failing due to powerful foes not adhering to such, around this time Odin began to rise to the top. That said, there is much evidence for other reasons including what the church would approve. I'll talk on Tyr when we get to the Tiewaz rune, which is equivalent to Tau, which is... eh, we'll get there. :)

Today's rune card is Kenaz/Kaunaz from S1S1-Stone Carved

Symbolically it is Torch/Flame. This rune is used for both K and C in the English. Either way it is a hard K sound, for kick or crikey! :P

Of note is the relationship to creativity, knowledge, illumination, controlled flame, exposure, quest for truth and so on. In this way we can think on a beacon, a torch or light bearer, fire that the Gods possessed, etc.
In pondering that aspect of fire/knowledge along with cunning; we begin to touch on the great similarities between Prometheus and Loki, including but not limited to their punishment. There is another cross over here in the Native American.

It is interesting that Kenaz (Fire) and Isa (Ice) can be combined to create the rune Teiwaz that is cognate to Zeus/Deus/and other Sky Father's all throughout history.
This is relevant because of the creation mythology where primordial fire met primordial ice in the abyss, where later life would form. It's an interesting thing that this mythology can be related to scientific theory, including rivers of different elements.
