LARP seems either like a redundancy or a misnomer. Why not just call it Role Playing (RP)?

Nowadays, the term LARP seems to be used for words on a website, which isn't really live-action, the way the video of actual people is. Still, it seems like LARP was already a term of some sort in 2005. It's since been misappropriated to mean people role playing, pretending, living out a fantasy in an online post. Interesting how the origins get obscured. The English language.
