Kraken does sell XRP, but not to folks in the US (at least they don't to me).

Usually I use Coinbase to on/off ramp fiat, trade into XLM and transfer in or out to other exchanges where I want to trade.

I have been purchasing XRP from KuCoin since most US exchanges have de-listed it, it works well and I haven't had any trouble sending it off exchange to both Ledger based accounts or the XUMM app.

No, they don't offer XRP. So, atomic then?

I did spell out a really basic approach to buying and holding XRP in that beginner page I made.

I have never used Kraken and could never figure out Kucoin.

If you follow the steps I gave you a while back, on that page, you would have a starting place.

After you figure out how to do it that way, you could go try other ways like Bitrue and Kucoin.

There are endless wallets you can put XRP and XLM in.

I gave the example of how I go about it.

You can try whatever you want, but I know the way I outlined on that page, works.

It's only one page of reading and three videos to watch.

Buy XLM somewhere

Make an Atomic Wallet

Send XLM to Atomic

Use the built in swap function of Atomic

to swap XLM for XRP

What is the reason?

One thing that can complicate matters sometimes is that they use IP geolocation and won't sell to people in those countries. The actual word is banned here, but you need to use a well known technology that begins with the letter V and ends with the letter P to set your IP address to be in a favorable country. It's a hassle, but that's why so many still use Uphold as it's very easy to use the app and purchase with fiat.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit against Ripple Labs alleges that XRP is a Security, so most US based Exchanges delisted XRP for sale to retail in the US.

Uphold is the only remaining CEX that I'm aware of that will sell to US based retail buyers.

Bitrue works as well.

I paid for a patreon group for a year to get a lot of the information I have, it was money well spent

You guys who are just starting out should find a favorite teacher or mentor and join their paid diss kord group or patreon or something so you can be in a focused group that is free from trolls and scammers. Find someone you like and trust and get in a safe place with other people who are learning.

As we see, GLP gets really nasty sometimes and doesn't add to the confidence building that we all need when we start out.

The way I do it (one option):

Buy XLM at Coinbase.

Send XLM to my Ledger.

Connect to StellarX.com with Ledger and swap for XRP.

Send XRP back to Ledger.

Easy!

(Don't attempt to send XLM from Ledger anywhere. It just hangs up, IDK why. That's why I just used Ledger to connect to StellarX and it moves quick)
