Well, not so sure credit cards will matter in the future. Not as much as honor, honesty and integrity. I would take any jobs (at least two) and focus on paying them but dont loose sleep over it.

I think it depends on your State. I know in my State a creditor can place a lien on me but can't force me out of my house or anything.

Most everyone at some point in life hits trouble. Divorce, job loss etc. When my credit was killed in my early 30's it forced me to drive a paid for car, I had zero credit card debt and a small home I could more than afford. I had ZERO pressure on me then.
now I have great credit and the pressure is ON!
